RE: The Software Upgrade

I've put a 'latest topics' feed on the sidebar.

Because the new recent replies feed does a good job of burying stuff too quickly, because the old one used to show entry per thread.
Have you changed it back?

What do you mean morty?
Its listing every post in a topic, as opposed to just the latest post in each one, I thought you had changed it?

Its no drama, but posts in the topics in the lesser used forums could go unnoticed.

No, you misunderstood fella.

I'd added a "latest topics" feed beneath that "latest posts" feed.

If I can find a way to improve the recent posts in the future I will.

But I've introduced that "latest topics" because new threads were getting buried too quickly in the new recent post feed, because of the way that the new one works.

There may be a "latest posts" feed out there which works like the old one, I'll have a hunt when I have a chance.

Not many people scroll down that far. It's a fairly good compromise when you know it's there though.

Not sure if I'm missing something or there's a software conflict, but I don't seem to have access to a 'preview' function for my posts.

This may be down to admin choice, but it's probably the most used function I have on the forums I use (along with the Quote function) and I'm really missing not having it available.

Can this be added, or is it already there and I'm somehow not seeing it?

I don't think there is a preview function, although posts on here can be edited for one hour after posting to correct any errors.

And the edit function is MUCH appreciated (especially the horror show that is the 'other' site),but I ALWAYS like to re-read my posts before finalising them and a preview function shows me exactly how it will look when posted, with the exact formatting etc.

If it could be added it would be fantastic, but I appreciate that it may not be that simple.

Or conversely, it may be really simple, will add it to the list of things to look in to.

Top of the list is to revive the twitter account tomorrow and invite people to check out our new responsive design on their ipads, and see if we can grab a few more prediction league entries  :)

I have a question. You can upload pictures now, but very quickly you reach your upload limit which is 500kb. I uploaded 3 pics on a thread and couldnt upload any more. If you go to the 'My Attachments' section, the pictures are there, but there is no option to delete them to restore your limit. So does that mean once your limit has been reached you can never upload another image? Cuz thats a bit silly. I use URLs when I can but some things arent hosted online

I also found these widgets from Opta. Unfortunately as you would expect you have to pay for them, though no idea how much they cost. Could be a useful thing for the site to have if they could pay for themselves. How are you paying for the site exactly at present as the advertising seems to have disappeared. Cant recall seeing any ads for Muslin singles or Russian Brides for ages!
