Plenty of options on the bench, if you dont consider VOO too fragile/unreliable, Grabban too fragile, R Bennett too fragile or O'Neil too old

With Redmond, Hooper and Grabban though he has attacking options to switch things around if her wants

Do you think Alex is putting a supportive arm round them or giving them the hairdryer?

Play-offs it is then. Oh well, sometimes things just dont go your way. Boro defended very well, but I honestly cant say I've ever seen a team begin to time-waste from the middle of the first half!

Gave it our best shot, winning all our remaining games was always going to be a tall order.

Proud of the effort from the lads. We'll do it through the play-offs instead

They did a job on us tonight, that's what happens when you concede first to the team with the best defence in the league. The fact that Daniel Ayala is the linchpin of that defence makes things even worse.

Play-offs it is then!

that was like the playoff final.

Frustrating that ws couldn't break them down but that's wgat you get for a poor start.

When are the playoff dates?

I always thought Aysla had potential just surprised he wasn't injured

Imagine Howson won't be getting much sleep tonight after that miss. He's usually reliable infront of goal.

In my opinion, bringing Johnson back at the expense of Redmond was a costly move.

Really disappointing. Just never got going and the early goal cost us so badly. It was pretty much deja vu of the Wigan game a few weeks ago, except obviously much more important as it now means that Boro are above us, and I would think now our automatic promotion chances are gone. I think it was a mixture of the fact that we just generally started slowly, but also we didn't expect Boro to fly out the traps so quickly and it shocked us a little bit and we didn't know how to respond, not at least until we went behind. From then on Middlesbrough proceeded to fall to the floor every time one of our players went within 5 yards, but to their credit they defended very well and we just couldn't break them down. That said we were nowhere near our best at any stage, which is the most frustrating thing. We lacked quality whenever we got into the final 3rd, and our delivery was awful.

Don't think anyone really had a great game. Thought Hoolahan was good first half but ineffective really in the second. I have to say I'm also disappointed that Redmond didn't get on 10 minutes or so earlier. The ref though, f*ck me. Fair enough he judged Hoolahan's dive right, but on the whole he was awful. Gave Boro players chance after chance despite a number of cynical fouls, and we had a blatant penalty for handball turned down in the second half, despite the fact he's supposedly a Premier League ref. That Howson chance though was such a big moment and he really should've scored.

Still, a bit of perspective. When Alex Neil took over we were 8th and every Norwich fan would've taken a 6th place finish. So even if/when we do finish 3rd/4th he's still done a fantastic job. And also, I doubt that anyone will want to meet us in the play-off's.

Time wasting from the middle middles of the first half? You obviously missed the fouls on our players that injured them, they were carrying knocks from the previous game.

Fell to the floor every time? That's right yeah of course we did... Unlike your player who blatantly cheated by throwing himself to the floor hoping for a penalty. Don't mention it too much though as it undermines you own argument really doesn't it.

Referee gave you absolutely everything, you ignored that fact too claiming it was the other way...laughable!

You never had a notable effort on goal all game, we really should have had 3 in the first 15 minutes.

Loved your chants of handball, handball, handball... Original song that, must have took some putting together! For the record, they clearly weren't handballs and if you think they were then you need to think again!

We played most of the first half with 10 men due to bamfords injury, same with the second and without a striker for the majority of the game, so we had to revert to defending, you still couldn't break us down and tried the diving route and claim everything is handball..well done the referee for spotting blatant cheating

This isn't sour grapes fella, I'm not some pouty teenager, you played a good game, scored an early goal and defended heroically.

But the timewasting really was cringeworthy.

Norwich fans to need to remember the favour we did them in 2011 after beating Baaadiff 3-0. They then needed to beat Pompey away. Did so 1-0 and spent the second half - TIME WASTING.

Funny little fans with short memories it seems.

I think you are wearing some red tinted glasses mfc, time wasting in both halves of the game, your keeper the most blatant. Did you watch the game live or on a stream? I suppose your keeper losing his dignity for a while is a small price to pay if he is a Premier League player next season.

But.... I don't blame your players for doing it, and we'd probably have attempted the same if it were us with the 1-0 lead in that game. You did a job on us and I was impressed with your defending to be honest, best defence in the league and it showed.

As for the idea that you did us a favour by winning a football game in 2011, that's laughable isn't it? Don't footballers try and win every game?

Besides, we finished 4 points clear and had another game after Portsmouth which was a 2-2 draw, so your assertion that we 'needed' you to beat Cardiff doesn't actually add up.

I did, did you? The 2 fouls on vossen, they required treatment...one he landed on his neck...time wasting? Really?

Bamfords, injured ankle against wolves...injured again against you...timewasting? Really?

Keeper whether injured or not, had treatment against wolves for same injury...if injured or not don't know, if he time wasted then fair play to him...we've had to put up with it enough times this season!

Timewasting or diving? What's worse?

Seems it's ok to timewaste when it suits you, but it timewasting is forbidden when it's against you...funny that!

Oh look you forgot to mention anything about your timewasting in that game...funny that
Nor did I say you needed us to beat Cardiff...

Are you drunk? I've just said that we would have done the same if it were us that were 1-0 up and that I don't blame your players for doing it. You've got the right hump haven't you? I'd have thought you'd be celebrating the win instead of coming here to stick the boot in.

Classy that mate!
