the word  'hooge'  has never been so accurate.   But with Watford winning by 2 goals tonight, and playing Birmingham at home on saturday, I genuinely now think that if we win all of our remaining games we will still finish third

I have a horrible feeling that our only hope will be needing to beat fulham by 3 or 4 goals, and they just scrap out a 2-0 and we miss out by 1 goal. And the disappointment and pain from that will hinder our hopes in the play offs

As you can tell I'm a glass half full kinda guy  ;)

What if, and bear with me here, Bournemouth stuff it up, and its us and Watford that go up?

Bournemouth have Sheff Wed, Bolton and Charlton to play, the last being away on the final day.

None of those games are bankers.

Yup. It's almost like people are forgetting Bournemouth are only a single point ahead. It's as if the best anyone else can hope for is 2nd.

Can't remember the last time a game was this big. Lose and our automatic promotion dreams are almost certainly over, a win though would put us top of the league even if it is just for a day. I think I'm right in saying though we have the best record in the league against the top 8, and considering the wonders Alex Neil has worked since he came in, there is every chance that we will this.

Team:

Ruddy
Whittaker Martin Bassong Olsson
Howson Dorrans Tettey Johnson
Hoolahan
Jerome

Now that Johnson's suspension is over I'd bring him back in for Redmond, and have a more conservative approach with Redmond as a very effective impact sub should we need him. Bit concerned about Tettey given the fact that he's said in the past he can't play 3 games in a week because of injury, but he's so important and so good at what he does that he has to start. Hopefully Grabban will be fit enough for the bench.

I was confident a couple of weeks ago that we would win this, however I'm not so much now. I've predicted draws in our last 2 games and we've won them both so with that logic in mind I'm gonna go 2-2.

We're not going to lose.

We're the better team, in better form, and we're at home.

We're going to win 4-0.

I don't think it will come down to goal difference; someone will slip, perhaps when least expected. It could, of course, be us, but I don't see it.

Morty, I agree, we are tending to think that Bournemouth will stay top.......when this is a team that actually struggled against a safe and weakened Reading team looking forward to a cup Semi. They could slip up as it did sound like they are very nervy and Bolton away will be a challenge, one point from that game rather than three and who knows what may happen......Norwich & Watford doesnt sound so crazy, subject to a win Friday of course.....oh, and then a very desperate Rotherham......and then that bogey side.....

What a huge game this is, win and I believe momentum will carry us past Rotherham and Fulham.

I also agree that Bournemouth look a bit shaky but then again they somehow manage to keep winning regardless. I still think it's extremely unlikely that both Watford and Bournemouth will win their final six matches, none of their remaining games are "gimme's" really.

On a slight aside I just read a stat, Alex Neil's win rate since he came here is 74%.

74%, just let that sink in.

I'm 99% sure he is not a regular human being like you and I. He is clearly some kind of higher power

I know we all bemoan how little attention Norwich get in the press, but I am truly surprised more hasn't been made of this, 74% is utterly ridiculous!

I trust AN...It really is as simple as that.

Whatsmore, I believe the players trust him too.

But Watford are scoring too many goals
They can score as many as as they like so long as they concede more.

I won't sleep tonight, or be able to concentrate at work tomorrow. How much more exciting is it fighting for success in the Championship than it is fighting for mediocrity in the Premier League?

Press conference from Colney, first we hear from John Ruddy :-

John: "Last time we were in the Championship, we got up with one game to go and it's going to be a similarly tight this year. It's going to be very interesting for the neutrals."

John: "We're on a roll. We've got momentum and confidence is high. We've been set up in a way that we know both how to effect teams and how to stop teams. We've come through the last few games in flying colours. Everyone's raring to go."

John: "We got our blip out of the way. The manager has come in and he's been absolutely fantastic with all of us."

John: "We kept our core together and we added quality. If we go up, hopefully we'll have enough quality to stay there as well."

John: "If we win three games out of three, hopefully that will be enough to be promoted. We just have to approach the same game in every manner - to try and get the three points."

John: "Every player wants to be in the Premier League. I feel like I'm good enough to be there, as does every player in that changing room."

John: "We've got three games. Tomorrow's is the biggest game of the season. As was Leeds and before that Bolton. That will be our approach between now and the final whistle against Fulham."

John: "We've managed to keep ourselves together and keep confidence. Let's just hope we can finish the job off."

John: "I've seen the desire for a number of months. Everyone has fed off the manager's enthusiasm. Everyone wants to be a Premier League footballer, and that's our aim."

John: "With the players and experience we've got in the dressing room, we've got more than enough to deal with the expectation. Middlesbrough are a good side but we're just concentrating on ourselves."

John: "I've been a bit below my own standards this season, but the back four is solid now. With the confidence they've given me, I hope I've repaid them."

John: "Patrick Bamford has scored a lot of goals but they've got a lot of good players."

John: "The club have made another fantastic appointment in Dean Kiely. He's a great coach and a great guy as well. He's popular around the place."

He also went onto say that Alex Neil's attention to detail is the best in any manager he has ever worked with.

Next up, Alex Neil.

Alex Neil talks to the press :-

Alex Neil: "We're hoping Lewis Grabban is going to be available tomorrow night."

Alex: "Brad gives us a different option and he's been in good goalscoring form. We're in good shape for tomorrow."

Alex: "The number of teams involved makes it a bit special in the Championship this season. That's what makes it really interesting."

Alex: "The fact that we're at home tomorrow is going to help. We're in good form in general, and we've clawed back a lot of points on the teams around us."

Alex: "If someone wins the game tomorrow night, I think it will have a big impact on every team. There's very limited time for every team."

Alex: "We want to stay ahead of Middlesbrough. If we get the three points, it will be a huge shot in the arm for us."

Alex: "When you're at a club like Norwich, the expectancy level is always going to be there."

Alex: "We have good momentum going forward. We believe that we can win every game. The fact that we've gone on this unbelievable run has put us in this situation, but we can't afford to drop any points."

Alex: "You take calculated risks with players. If Lewis Grabban is not right, he won't be risked. He'll only play if he won't do himself any harm."

Alex: "You can't get much better than this game. It's what you go into football for. It will be about who can handle the pressure and who performs on the night."

Alex: "We're a different animal to what we were when we went to Boro. It will have no bearing on tomorrow's game."

Alex: "We've just got to take care of our business. We've got three games left and we've got to go and try to win them all."
