Perhaps somebody off of on here might do a report and we can discuss differing views and opinions.
I didn't realise just how strongly some people felt about the non football forum closing. Did we ever really find out why they closed it?Hopefully there will be some interesting non football threads on here now that the pinkun has banned them.
I never thought the politics section was too bad. A couple of wind up merchants and one who seemed to resort to constant personal insults but in the whole I always found it interesting. I liked the fact that it attracted people from across the political spectrum as Norwich was the only common cause, whereas most message boards simply descend into echo chambers. Hopefully the bulk of the decent folk migrate across.Yeah my thoughts. They threw the baby out with the bathwater. A lot of good interaction and plenty of humour. The politics got heated (as it does in life) which I haven't missed but you got a great understanding from very well informed posters on international affairs, even those views you wouldn't normally agree with. It broadened my mind. Never a bad thing as you get older rather than the usual hardening of a position or becoming too fixed.
Agree about the sheer randomness and breadth of subjects. A real miss and it's lost some soul. The football side (even tonight) is so often just a playing out of dislikes from a few posters. It's tiresome. It doesn't feel like this here but just quite chilled and 'normal'.
For the games I can’t get to I don’t bother reading the pinkun write ups anymore Ric, just yours and the BBC onePerhaps somebody off of on here might do a report and we can discuss differing views and opinions.
It came out of the blue really, Morty. Yes some people's behaviour was a little questionable, but surely you deal with them individually, rather than impose blanket censorship? As Fen has stated, it was good to debate with people with differing views to your own, as well as with people you agree with. A tiny minority just happened to go too far sometimes.I didn't realise just how strongly some people felt about the non football forum closing. Did we ever really find out why they closed it?
I don't think that the forum there has ever been properly moderated. It always felt like someone logs in there for 20 minutes a day, looks at the reports to see who has had a moan, then just do the easiest thing possible and delete whole threads, so quite often the person will not even know why they have been moderated. It came out of the blue really, Morty. What is also much missed by myself, is the humour that many people brought to that side of forum and it could be from anyone, at any time, as well as the TV, music and film threads, the nature threads and the many food related posts that just come out of no-where. I think Connor was very hasty in how he dealt with it.
I sincerely hope that this forums non-football attracts some of the old Pink-Un posters back and we can get the (healthy) debate ticking along again.
I have never liked the superior attitude of some people there, nobody is more important than anyone else, despite what a few of the usual suspects might think. It was me kicking back against that that earned me my ban lol.Sounds fair. With the Pinkun I can put up with (ignore) decade long boring arguments about some financial minutiae, people having a massive strop, or even being a bit libellous. But collective bullying of posters who are a bit divergent or obsessive - or just a bit dickish - is uncomfortable. But I don't think I have a thick enough skin for the online world!
Start a thread about it, fill your boots!Appreciate that some people may not like Football Finance but unfortunately it has become a far more important component than is desirable. One answer could be to put Football Finances in its own section.
The moderation process on here sounds good. No reason why current or historical affairs can't be handled similarly and some interesting debates facilitated.
Oh Morty! What have you done?Start a thread about it, fill your boots!

More properly:
"We have our forum back"
- being more pedantic than you. So there!
Me too, Mate. Brought up (or dragged up, as me Mum would say) on a council estate in Kent. It's more formal, but either are acceptable, and I'm working class![]()
There's a thread saying that it is, but I haven't had any issues myself. Is it playing up again?![]()
