I have had no contact with him since he took over! The pinkun will probably be fixed soon and they'll all bugger off anyway

Well well who could have ever guessed that this place would outlive the Pink'Un Forums.. Guess a few out there must have to eat some humble pie right about now But seriously it's a shame to see it go. Even more of a shame and quite frankly somewhat upsetting it's gone without so much as a notice or warning, and at Christmas of all days too. Over 20 years of history, thousands of posts and countless notable posters and personalities all resigned to the dustbin although sadly the drama from time to time and personal vendettas some posters had with one another won't be missed, nor will the bullying that myself and some others had to endure from time to time. (Even if I will admit I probably did deserve some of it..)

Interestingly if you Google "Norwich FC forum" this place is the first result that shows up. Guess even Google knows this is the place to be now! Here's hoping certain others from there will show up here from time to time, but if not I wish them well.

Still dead, beginning to wonder whether its actually been deleted.

It was bound to happen one day, but not giving everybody a weeks notice is an awful way to treat their readers.

I am staying on the side of it being a technical issue, that they will resolve once everyone is back from holidays.

Because I still can't believe they would just pull the plug like that. Am slightly surprised though that they never tried to monetise the forum membership. I reckon if they said to most that use it often that they had to pay 25 quid a year, despite grumbling, I reckon a lot would pay it.

They certainly haven't been shy in packing an advert into every spare square inch of their websites.

Perhaps it's an experiment. Get rid of it and monitor other forums, see the reaction and see how much they think they could get away with charging!

I genuinely think they couldn't care less. Forums don't make them money, sure you get a bit of dosh for clicks based on advertising, but I doubt it is much. And they have a responsibility to moderate too, I mean apart from people having silly feuds, if suddenly your forum became a hotbed for extreme views they, as a company, you could be in bother. I think they definitely closed the non football forum on that basis.

I have always had a sneaking suspicion that they've never liked the forum not just because of the politics side prior to the removal of non football but mostly because that forum was often rather negative and nasty at times towards the team and players and they liked to present the club as being a clean, nice polite friendly family club so having the largest Norwich forum being a bunch of people screaming at each other, demeaning and insulting players and others demanding Delia, the manager, the kitman and the tealady get sacked at once rather went against the image they liked to present the club as.

I think it was just an annoyance. And purely from a financial point of view, paying an employee to get in the middle of petty squabbles makes no sense.
