Sargent deal reportedly close. Either Burnley or Wolfsburg.
Burnley will be hard graft. They’ll be up against it all season and they’re not the most exciting of teams to watch, I’ll say it will get lonely up the top end of the pitch

Looks like he is off to Wolfsburg. Much the better option!
Good money for him if the reports are correct. Decent anyway with his patchy injury record. He did eventually come good.
I'm not downhearted because I think we can re-invest and we now know Knapper has his targets (stated that we would add even if Josh stayed). Perhaps the most interesting recruitment of the summer will be his replacement. Can't imagine we will take too long. Within 2 weeks?

Pleased it's not Leeds too.

I look forward to an eye-catching replacement being signed.

Little bit of talk around Jeff Schlupp and Jamal Lewis for that troublesome left back area...

I'd prefer Schlupp.
I think he'd be a very good signing. A lot of Premier League experience. High standards and know-how.

Lewis is interesting, his career might have fizzled out a bit but he's now in his peak years so in the right environment he could flourish.

He hasn't been in good form for quit a while. Been hampered by injuries. And the purchase could be an odd one, because whoever we buy could find themselves 3rd choice. I think Schlupp would be more comfortable with that role, and he can also cover a few positions too.

I think it is another of those ones, would we be considering Lewis if it wasn't for his previous Norwich connection?

Assuming Schlupp is fit and well I'd have thought he'd come here to be first choice.

I don't think he comes here on the basis that he'll play a few games only to then be backup to a couple of relatively unproven youngsters.

A 32 year old free agent? Hmmmm, not so sure.

Depends on the person. Some people are happy to wind down but others just want to play as many games as they can.

The condition these lads are in these days means getting into your 30s really isn't what it used to be.

As long as he doesn't have any long standing/underlying injury issues then he'll be fine.

He might well be fine. But it will be a short term deal, and I doubt he'll be expecting to start every game. He is retiring to Costa Del Colney
