We had a striker called Gaetano Giallanza playing with Cottee who was much better. But unfortunately injury curtailed his career. I believe he is now an agent and one of his clients joined us in the past, can't remember who.

He is now a football agent and represented Timm Klose during his transfer to Giallanza's old club Norwich City.[1]

Makes sense as they're both Swiss

Enjoy your evening out people. Mine will be here in my nice warm apartment with some sipping stuff. Bloody cold out there

McLean late withdrawal, Wright starts in his place. Borja back!

If I was the opposition I would be doing my best to wind Borja right up.

In my pre match prediction I suggested 3 or 4 to their one...but the way things are going we look out of sorts. Hopefully a game of tel halves and a goal for us before HT would change a lot of the momentum

Well. Utter shit.
And the Ref was atrocious
Yep. I'm a half full supporter, always look for the positives in any situation. But...hard to find much over the last two games. And a fullish squad and new expensive signings, the league's top scorer returning.... I can only say it's useful first team experience for the young players. That's my best shot.
Twice in a row now at home too (in our own front room as DF used to say). Pathetic.

Not a massive fan of subbing off your main (and only) striker on 60mins when you're 1 nil down. Even more so when said striker is currently on a hot streak.

That was awful. Hoffball seems to be about kicking it hard and high, hoping that the Sarge is somewhere near it. Should have left Sainz on holiday, so much was expected of him tonight, he failed. Be very hard to give any player a 5 tonight. Could have subbed most before half time. I thought that the Hoff was supposed to be a tactical coach

Quite poor. I was part of the collective delusion after scraping a 1-0 against 10 man Watford, thinking we were on route to the play offs. Could still happen but we didn't look like we were fighting for it tonight

I think this is very optimistic, Preston another big physical side and they don't concede many.

Only conceded 38 this season in 37 games.

We've conceded 50.

Think its one of those where we have to be really careful not to concede the first goal because they are adept at parking the bus. Might need to actually be quite conservative and cautious first half, maybe hope to grab one late in the half to go in in the lead so its Preston that have to open up in the second half and leave some gaps.

I don't have much faith in our ability to break down teams who sit deep and defend, but we're decent on the counter (with Sainz playing at least)

I don't take any pleasure at all in calling this one

This was the first home match this season which I haven't been able to attend.

Looks like it was a good one to miss.

I’m not a fan of cross posting from the Pink Un, so apologies in advance for the following.
But I thought it was worth mentioning here too

Given the circumstances, I think Hoff is doing a great job to be in touching distance of the playoffs.

Disruption at the start of the season with Rowe & Kamara.
Sargent & Nunez injuries
McLean & Sainz suspensions
Reducing squad age and integration of new players and new system.

Once everything clicks into place we’ll be fine.

Also, have we won a game yet when Duffy has the armband?
