It would be nice if they could invite McNally to join the lap of honour so fans could say goodbye to him.
Then again, if he'd been a bit wiser and announced he planned to leave at the end of the season he could have just invited himself, so perhaps not.

Clearly p*ssed off at the fact that no matter what division us two teams are in, he'll never be able to forget the time he woke up at 3am to get a coach to Wembley, only to watch his side get completely out-classed and out of the game after just 15 minutes, despite the fact that he had to pay through his nose for a ticket.
I'd be quite annoyed too if that had happened to me. I witnessed my team win the game comfortably though so I wouldn't know how it feels.

The whole game had a bit of a pre-season friendly feel about it. Watford's season has obviously fizzled out since confirming their Premier League safety, and realistically I think all our players new that we would relegated by the end of the game no matter how well they played. Even so nice to end on a win and an entertaining game. Delighted the players and Neil got such a good reception at the final whistle as well. The vast majority of them have given their all this season, they're just simply not good enough.
As for the actual game, it's so typical that we don't score a goal for 4 games, and then go and get 4 in 1 game, 2 of them within about 3 minutes of each other :laugh: It was a great attacking performance, with our front 4 all causing real problems. Defensively we were a shambles again. Watford's 2nd goal almost symbolised our defending all the way through this season, Martin got bullied by Deeney before he whipped the ball in, where 2 of our defenders just watched as Ighalo ran past them and tapped the ball in. Mbokani had one of of his games where he was unplayable. If we could somehow get him in the Championship he'd be a beast, but there's no chance it'll happen.
I personally would've chosen Brady for player of the season, but I have no complaints about Howson getting it. Have to say I think I'll be more gutted if we lose him in the summer than I will Redmond/Klose. Interesting to hear Russell Martin talk after the game, and Alex Neil saying that he felt he let the players down. Whilst he hasn't got it all right this season he certainly isn't the primary reason for relegation and it's good to see that the club and the fans are still behind him. I think we really need to get a new chief exec in place as quickly as possible and then set a clear direction that we want to take, so that if/when we do get back into the Premier League we don't end up blaming our recruitment at the end of the season for a third time.
Anyway, looking forward to next season now. I'll probably watch the Everton game but I'm not too bothered about it. The real work will start after that match.

Being an employee does not mean you're a puppet. Given we got relegated, I've actually been quite happy today and I really fancy our chances next season to come straight back, but Christ on a pogo stick you're depressing Wiz!

Strange how some attitudes have changed from it being imperative we stay in the Prem to it doesn't matter, I love my team. Not knocking that sentiment but maybe if that had been adopted from the start, there would not have been so many excuses or blame for our poor performance(s) on here.
It has nothing to do with our size, fan base, scouting team or CEO. The sun will rise tomorrow, you will pay your taxes and NCFC will have 46 league matches next season which is a bonus 8 matches. From our chairman's statement it is easy to believe we will have the same manger next season and from our manager's statement it is easy to believe he might do things differently. Personally, I would like to see him replaced as I'm not convinced he is the bright young manager he is hyped up to be but at the least get help if he is staying as I'm not convinced he knows much about the transfer market in this country or Europe.
And remember, it doesn't matter who you are playing or where it is taking place. It is NCFC, hopefully with a new sponsor's logo on a decent shirt.
