I'd probably take that.Reckon we'll do Forest 4-0
In 2014/2015 season the average wage in League 2 was only £40k a year, so £769 a week.... and that average would have been brought up significantly by Portsmouth and Plymouth. Portsmouth still had Nicky Shorey on £8k a week, so would be plenty earning bog standard wages of £400 or £500 a week.
Generally there is just silly money in football at all levels these days. Down at Thurlow Nunn league there will be lads on a couple hundred or more per game. Might even be similar amounts going around the Anglian Comb for the right player.
If it doesn't get better this season it'll only be worse next season.Ps.... People on the Pink'un calling for Webber and Farke to go are idiots. If anything because we've just spent millions paying people off, where's the money coming from to make a dozen people redundant again? We can't afford to have another overhaul.
I'll call for Farke's sacking if we get pulled into a relegation battle, or if we don't get off to a flying start in the 2018/19 season when we should be seeing the fruits of all this change and with 2 more transfer windows under our belts. If Webber doesn't make us competitive next season despite a huge decrease in revenue then basically he has failed in his remit.
Ruddy, Bennett, Bassong, Mulumbu and co wouldn't have accepted 1 year deals, and you can't give 3 year deals to players on their money when you are 1 year away from parachute payments ending. We had no option but to overhaul. If it doesn't get better this season it'll only be worse next season.
