This feels like a biggie, time to produce a real performance to quieten down the more nervous amongst us.
It's been obvious for a while that Murphy needs a rest and obvious for ages that Martin isn't up to it. So why is AN so slow to see these things? We don't stand a chance of promotion with him as manager. Do we really need to sink down into mid table before the board sees that? FFS we've just been hammered 5-0 by HUGHTON!Utterly disgraceful. Need a few changes for the next game. McGovern, Martin, Bennett, Tettey and Murphy all need to be removed from the side to be honest.
Yep a hard one to take for those of us that live down here. That was as bad as I think I've ever seen from us. I am not looking forward to work on Monday. Absolutely fuming, I just feel for the fans that travelled. Only ten minutes on the train for me.
I think the way he handles the media is fine as he doesn't generally pick out individual players for criticism and does accept responsibility for defeats. But I agree with all the other things you've said. He's failed in the transfer window, failed in team selection and tactics and failed to get the best out of the squad.Been saying for a long time that AN is not the manager for us. In my view he took over NAs squad that was built well and knew their jobs and gave them the kick up the arse they needed (that NA didn't do) and that carried him to promotion. Since that time I can hardly remember one performance that was complete. Maybe I am missing a few decent games but the body of work is very much indicative of having someone in charge who lacks basic leadership and tactical awareness. We look unfit, clueless, tactically inept and completely uninterested. We are carrying players on the squad who should have left ages ago (RM, SB, SN) and not playing others who could offer something useful (YM, KL). We have shipped out the youngsters rather than give them a chance to shine. we have had three awful transfer windows under AN. He has coached the good out of some of our players (TK and Nathan when he was here) and persists with poor selections along with constant tinkering. His leadership today post game was sorely lacking and he remains buoyed by a legion of apologists in the media and ex-players who all seem to believe he is wonderful despite the evidence on show. Our results to date have been the result of individuals producing despite poor team play. We have not kept a clean sheet for 11 league games. Our goal difference is only better (marginally) than three other teams in the top 12 (and don't forgrt that GD is often a great indicator early on of who will be dominant). The way he calls out the players and blames them rather than shoulder it himself is disgraceful. Yes, the players do go on the pitch but he picks them, tells them what to do, trains them on these tactics (?) and then is supposed to make adjustments if it doesn't work. Yet it never seems to be his fault. they don't look fit enough. Not his fault apparently. After the loss he allows them to have their say? Why isn't he busting their heads and making sweeping changes in personnel and tactics? He looks, to me, like the proverbial violinist watching the Titanic sink with him on board and the only reason he won't leave is because he will give up his termination payment.
The experiment has failed. Please move on City and this time, let's not go for the cheap option.
