12 minutes in and its clear to see the set up is wrong this time.

How long until AN realises?
Nah, not having that I'm afraid. That was a very, very good performance by us. The players look comfortable in the formation, Redmond looks a new player.

We were worth at least a point, and as much as I hate blaming officials, its obvious they were a bit starstruck. Very obvious.

Same story as the Leicester game really, put in a good shift and played well overall but we switch off as a team for one moment in the whole game and we end up conceding from it, only difference is that moment came at the beginning of the match this week, whereas on Saturday it came at the end. Although to be fair this week at least we did actually take one of our chances, only for it to be cancelled out by a goal that never should've stood. I was sat pretty much in line with our back 4 when the ball was played through and it was so clear that Costa was offside. How a linesman who is not only paid to make those big decisions, but is closer to the action than we are, can't see that is beyond me. At 1-0 down we still had a good chance going into the 2nd half, 2-0 though was a massive hill to climb, and ultimately it proved too much.

With the exception of the lackadaisical start, it's hard to fault the players today. Gave it absolutely everything against an in-form, quality side and very nearly got something. 2nd half we outplayed Chelsea, and came close to finding the net a few times without prevail. I really like Jerome, not only as a player but he seems a nice guy as well. He works his *bleep* off every week and without his goals last season we might not have got promoted in the first place, but he just isn't good enough to be a first choice striker at this level. He obviously missed a glorious chance on Saturday, and was guilty again today of not being clinical enough in front of goal. It may've been harder than it first looked I don't know, but the shot that clipped the bar and went over was a fantastic opportunity, and you would expect your striker to be hitting the target from there. He also had a great chance in the first half, where he outpaced Cahill to the ball but then chose to pass when he had a brilliant chance to shoot with only one defender anywhere near him.

There were some great individual performances today as well. Don't think anybody played badly as such, but obviously Jerome missed a couple of key chances, and there's still a question mark over Pinto defensively, but apart from that it's hard to fault anyone. My man of the match personally was Howson, who dictated our midfield superbly and hardly ever seemed to give the ball away. Redmond was also excellent and caused real problems, as well as scoring a very nice goal. He also showed some good link-up play with Hoolahan, who put in a very good performance also. Klose looks more and more worthy of his price tag with each passing game, and Martin is actually looking very comfortable in a back 3. Didn't have too much to do today but it's also nice to have Ruddy back, who certainly inspires more confidence throughout the defence.

All in all not too bad a day despite losing and dropping into the bottom 3. No doubt however Match of the Day will not show some good of the good chances we had, will talk about Chelsea for 10 minutes and then say 'Norwich are in trouble' at the end. Massive game against Swansea now on Saturday. Recently we've gone from saying that we're plain woeful to we're playing well but not getting the points we deserve, so surely the next step is to actually get some results.

Oh that's a rarity Morty and me disagree, well....let's see how things looked in terms of team balance after the 60th minute when he did change the formation......but I agree it was generally a decent effort all round, particularly considering that start. Agree with Din, as Howson is certainly on a good run of form and is really looking the part at this level, yes on Martin too, but surely others felt Bennett looked like an accident waiting to happen. The officials made some howlers, and sometimes you have to question just how they manage it, the linesman (I still call them that, how many years has it been) was level with an unobstructed view for that second goal for instance. Still I believe this set of players is good enough.......

I agree with that, Redmond looks so much better as the right side of the front 3, as opposed to the right side of the midfield 4, its ridiculous how much of a difference pushing him a further 15 yards up the field has made

Hard to take much cheer from another loss. Losing games where we play well is what is sinking us. I had the feeling that an equaliser would have turned the season. After Redmond's goal, carrow road was rocking, the players had their sleeves rolled up  - even redmond - and it felt like a corner was being turned. Let's hope that can carry over to the next games.

Agree with this.    And only playing well once the game is lost is, like us again,  pointless.

The game was lost after 45 seconds yesterday;  unfocused lax defending leads to soft winner from their left back,   with almost half the team failing to defend at some point.   Summed up (but not solely blaming) by the lazy leg attempted block by Ryan Bennett.

For me Mbokani added nothing for his introduction - winning a couple of headers isnt enough.  But three at the back when they were defending a lead is unnecessary;  a different story if we hadnt decided to start the game 1-0 down.

Brady, Oneil, Wes, Howson, Redmond and Jerome (apart from failing to hit the target) and were on fine form - and why we have to hope they can deliver come swansea.   Thought wes much better than naismith has been recently

Yeah as I said earlier against Leicester our passing was the problem and Naismith just isnt player who can replace creativity ehat Wes brings in the table. Hoolahan was exellent yesterday and sadly we really dont have playmaker behind him that we could use Naisy and striker without him.

Had he been fit, I reckon Naismith would have been ideal in a striker role last night.

I think Naismith as the striker is an option for swansea for me;  e looked better in midfield for not having naismith there and would look to change it for the weekend just to accommodate him.

I agree with Naismith as a striker option as he, Wes, and Redmond looked to feed off each other against Liverpool.

Though what about giving Bamford a shot? We know the kid has talent as we saw that in the Championship last year. Not sure who you would drop if you are trying to include Wes, Redmond, and Naismith, but I feel like we need to give Bamford more than just 5 minutes at the end of games to rescue points and show what he could do for us.

Yeah, I don't know about starting Bamford but the game time he's had so far is ridiculous.

True starting him might be a little much, but we are basically treating him like Palace did.  Our strikers aren't scoring much, let alone the number of missed chances both Mbokani and Jerome have had.  Not saying they don't score, just that you would think that if you miss that many wide open goal scoring opportunities that likely could have resulted in points, eventually you will be dropped from the starting 11.

Give the kid a shot. Starting him or bringing him on at half, just something more than 5 minutes every other game.  Doing worse than what we have been getting would take a special kind of effort.

Mbokani has actually been pretty clinical, 1 goal in every 5.75 chances.

Which is actually better than Bamford's record with Middlesbrough in the league below where he scored 1 goal in every 5.94 chances.

Vardy only has 1 goal in every 5.41 chances... so if we are looking for our most clinical striker, it is Mbokani.
