From the interview with Neil Adams after the game last night, the impression I got was this was Ricky's choice and not the teams. Which if true, is really disappointing. He doesn't want to stay and fight, he'd rather flee to a league that isn't very competitive and is dominated by a couple of big spenders. I'd think his personal pride was dented from last season's goal output, and he'd want to stay and fight but apparently that's not the right assumption. If it was his decision, then we're better off without him, can't carry anyone in the Championship who's not up for it. Still it's a shame, thought he had a lot of potential and another season in a tough league in England would have done him the World of good.

I doubt we will ever get the true story here!! As in Adams claims he wants to keep EVERYONE, and that Ricky starts with a clean slate and even would be welcome back if he does not fancy the loan.
Then we have RVW and his tweets! Appreciate that we may only be reading what we want to see in those tweets, and like Morty has said "its the modern day version of kissing the badge". Just I honestly felt that he was up to the challenge and wished to prove himself!
Just dont know what to think!! My opinion is that a combination of Ricky not playing in the last few games, his squad number changing, the KNOCK which has kept him out of friendlies suggests that Adams does not want him!
But as I have said before... Aslong as NCFC have a really good season then names on the team sheet should not matter!!

He is clearly on high wages, and a luxury we can't afford in the Championship. Especially when we don't know if he can return to his Sporting form.

I don't mind him going on loan, but I think it would be a mistake to put a buy clause in there. If he does return to form and hits 15 odd goals, then his value would be more than the £4.2 million, or whatever it is that is being quoted.
Still not done though, wonder if it's a case of him taking some time to think about it, or if they can't get the terms of the deal sorted with us.

Must be difficult to negotiate a " if he's *bleep* you can have him for an inflated price, if he turns out decent then we'll have him back" clause in a contract.

I would have much prefered a simple loan fee for his services for the year and then sort the rest. Hard to see how we win with an agreed fee. If he's awful they dont buy him and we're still stuck with him, or if he's great, they get him at a knock down price

Anyone else think the article in the Pink'Un this morning regarding Ricky was a bit of a shitty thing to do, especially considering he hasn't officially left yet and even when he does, it'll be on loan and not a permanent deal.

Thought it was distasteful considering the player did so much for us in our promotion season, and then in our important first season in the Premier League, and really hadn't been given much of a chance under Hughton. He had just had an excellent game too. Thought it was unnecessary, and comparing him with Cody McDonald and James Vaughan - two players who contributed absolutely nothing to our rise - was just outright disrespectful.

I completely agree with you on that one. I actually criticised Lakey on Twitter about that article, in a very polite and well mannered way and instead of addressing the points I made (Which were almost identical to the ones you made above),he blocked me, for just disagreeing with him.

I agree with you BarclayBoy, but one third of those voting agree with the headline. I fear the Yellow Army is still a very split entity. Some are just waiting to have a chance to start shouting Adams out if we lose a match. It disturbs me.
