Just scored!

*faints*
Pleased for him, was getting embarrassing. I hope we don't hear the "should have kept him" cries until he has scored a few more though!

Becchio scored at the weekend too.

Yeah I'm pleased for him too, things working out for him can only be good, whether we see him in green and yellow again, or punt him on. Oh you will hear those cries lol.

Kind of ditto with Becchio, though I doubt we'll see him playing for us again.

Good Christ. Have British Airways have to delay their flights because there are too many pigs in the air?

But nah, I agree with what's said above, I'm happy that he's managed to finally get a goal. Hopefully that'll give his confidence a huge boost.

For anybody who has yet to see the goal...

Well taken, St Etienne fans showing why we don't do terracing anymore though.

Van Wolfswinkel converts cross from the byline shocker... Why didnt we think of that?  Did you see the crowd reaction?

The fact that people are getting excited about one goal shows we were right to move him on. Too much of a hangover from last season. Whatever the reasons for his failures last season, the fresh start has enabled everyone to move on.

It is in our interests for him to do well at St Etienne.

And despite our service being awful last season, and the likelihood that he'd have done better with wingers playing on their natural sides, I'll never be convinced that he could have been any more than very average in the Premier League.

That's the type of goal I expected him to score last season. He took that very well. The thing was though is that he never got service like we saw there.

Love the reaction of the St Etienne fans though.

Decent finish. Poor goalkeeping.

Good on you Ricky.

One goal in eleven appearances now
Which would be 2 in 38 since signing for us last summer.

Lets face it, he's crap and we got ripped off.

Adams is being vindicated in his decision to go with new strikers. Grabban is in terrible form (as long as hes burying his chances he is alright by me, but recently he has missed some sitters),but Jerome has been a revelation.

He wasn't crap when he signed him. His record before wasn't pure luck. Whatever has happened, I don't think he'll pull it back now.

That's it though, how do we know how good he was? So he scored lots of goals in Eredivisie, but Jozy Altidore scored more (twice a flop in English football). He did pretty well in Portugal, but there have been countless number of flops from Portugal in the Premier League.

Signing Portuguese players for over inflated prices became popular after Man Utd signed Cristiano Ronaldo, but that league seems to have provided the EPL with many of our biggest high priced flops.

He got a couple of substitute appearances for Holland in friendlies. Sounds impressive on paper, but the Dutch have their Francis Jeffers, Michael Balls and David Nugents just like we do, Collins John for example. In fact, Sheff Wed had one come off the bench on Saturday - Royston Drenthe.

And actually, Belgium are currently ranked as the 4th best nation on earth (above Holland),we have a Belgian international in our team at the moment.

Argentina are 2nd in the world. We had an Argentine international on loan last season.

There was always talk of Van Wolfswinkel joining English clubs, starting as early as 2010 and then constantly until we signed him in 2013. But none of them ultimately decided to sign him, and whilst we'll never know, I suspect it has a lot to do with them just deciding that he was too much of a risk and didn't have the physique to make it in such a physical league.

Sorry but I just didn't see anything last season, after the first game, which suggested he was anywhere near good enough to play in the Premier League. Just looked completely out of his depth. Yes, he was in a poor team, but he was part of the reason why the team was so poor.

If he can't cut it in a league which made Joey Barton look like Roy Keane reincarnate, then he'll just never cut the mustard in a yellow shirt. Just my (very long) opinion of course!

Cameron Jerome is ticking all the boxes for what I want to see in a Norwich striker so far, has been our best signing. Pace, power, good with his head, good with his feet, unpredictable and a great attitude. Makes me wonder how he didn't get more starts at Stoke, wouldn't swap him for Walters.

It's not as simple as, one league is better than another, they will score goals there but not here. Plus the English like to overblow how good our leagues are (they're average). Its down to how they adjust to a new culture, how the side they're in is playing, a little luck/confidence etc.

That's quite a generous assessment of Jerome.

Does he have good feet? I've seen stuff break down quite a few times when it goes in to him and his touch is loose.

He's a threat at this level but I think we've seen over the last few games why he hasn't made a big impact at the clubs he's been at in recent years.

Just scored again. Seems to be picking up a bit of form. Not that it matters much to us though, don't think he'll be back.

Nah he won't be back. St Etienne's apparently have an option to buy him for £7m at the end of the season, I would love them to take that option.

I wish him well and just hope that the final £6m is paid so we can all move on.

Yeah, agreed Yellow.

I would doubt very much that we'll see him back, even if we were to get promoted.
