quite disappointed actually that we're letting him go, would of liked to of seen us given him a chance, but he needs to be playing regularly now to help his development and with us in the premiership his game time would be severely limited, A loan would of been good but next season is the last year of his contract so i can see why we didn't want to loan him out, wish him all the best and hope he doesn't come back to haunt us one day

The sort of player who could have done a Korey/Adeyemi/Spillane had the club dropped to an appropriate level, but probably never going to emerge at the level we're growing players for.

He should take heart from the Grant Holts, Rickie Lamberts and Leon Brittains of this world though and push on - Good luck!

ridiculous,  I could of understood if he was trying to claim he was injured, but all he said was that he didn't feel Irish, didn't work out to bad though his side won 3-1 away to Cambridge

Well, he has accepted their callups in the past so I can see why they would be annoyed. Not seen them hand out bans for it though, I actually think there should be harsh consequences for players that want to play full internationals but skip youth u21 callups.

On a similar note, I was surprised to see Bassong involved with Cameroon again. Born in France, Bassong declared himself Cameroonian to play in the World Cup I believe, but quite a while ago after he'd ticked that box he said that he didt 'feel' Cameroonian and stopped playing for them. Anyone know when/why that changed?
