Prediction Game

I had an idea and was thinking of starting it here just a little something to keep people coming back, but just wanted to see who would be interested.

Basically I'll start a new thread every week with a selection of fixtures from the weekend, and you all predict the scores. 3 points for a correct result, 10 for a correct score, I'll keep track of everyone that enters and produce a league table as the weeks go by.

So, who would get involved? And if you were interested, should the games be the weeks Championship fixtures or a pick of 6 or so from around the leagues (kind of like Sky's Super 6 if you've played that)?

Yeah I'm game.

I would say use the same format as the super 6 but have ransom games from each of the 4 divisions, and keep the scoring at 2 and 5.  I think 10 is quite a big jump.

Hi Splutcho, 

A few of our members have expressed concerns about our forum impacting on the Pink un pickers thread on the PInk'un which is run by Nutty Nigel which raises money for charity, and I said that in the short term I wouldn't have anything which would compete with it, I'd be a bit worried that this thread would impact on that (and it was a promise really). 

In the future this site will have an awesome software based prediction league, probably in time for for the 2015/16 season. For now it would be best if we held back on this? If this forum grows then I'd probably invite Nigel or somebody else to find a way to generate charity cash out of the software (or run a thread alongside it).

For now, we can do weekly score predictions for Norwich games and people can share and discuss their bets on the betting forum. 

Would be a shame if a free/fun thread negatively affected one which raises cash for a non-profit, so until I can introduce something which also raises money for charity - I wouldn't really want us to tread on toes. 

Or do you think I'm just being silly? Be good to hear members opinions on this.

I'd give it a go.  I think a super 6  would be the way to go, but I am not opposed to doing the week's Championship fixtures either.

I hadn't really thought of that mate. If you think it'd impact it then I'll hold off on it (especially as someone that supports NN totally with his PUPS threads).

That said, it'd be quite poor form if somebody opted to do something like this instead of helping the PUP's rather than as well as.

I will leave it down to you. You're the boss.

As a side note, having the software to run a prediction league on here sounds fantastic.

Just as a note, I do agree with this.

I think if you are going to do the Pink'Un one, you'll do it regardless, and if you're not, then this won't affect that at all. Your choice though.

Well considering the Pink'un have just announced a Pink'un prediction league, presumably in response to the creation of this forum, and don't seem to have an issue with it conflicting with the PUPs thread - then I'd say that it sounds like a great idea if you want to proceed with it  :)
