IMO, we weren't wasteful as much as unlucky facing a keeper having a blinder. On another day at least one or two of those would have gone in and we'd have won comfortably. That's football. Tettey was responsible for marking Diouf for their goal, but other than that he had a solid game.

There are CB's in the Championship that I'd consider....

Michael Dawson for a start.
I think he is on a downward spiral. Davies is back in the Championship as well but they have both been in relegated teams just as ours have. I don't see them as improvements to be honest.

There are up and coming CB's in the Championship too, Lewis Dunk (23) from Brighton and Harlee Dean (24) from Brentford are two that I can think of.

If Martin or Bassong get an injury or suspension, would you be happy sticking Turner in the side?

And haven't we given up on Ryan Bennett becoming a regular here now? Just hasn't worked out for him.

Agreed. If Pantimillon was in goal we'd have won that. Similarly in the form Butland was in if he'd have been in goal for Sunderland he might well have saved all our goals. The difference having a top quality keeper can make sometimes

I agree about the replacements although I assume Wisdom is in at the first sign of one or both CB's not performing.

Turner and Bennett aren't really good enough even as cover. I haven't seen the lads you mention and trust they are good players.

I think Ryan Bennett is good enough as cover. We desperately need a new centre back though, but someone who can play regularly, even though it'll likely mean having to displace the captain.

I also agree that Ryan Bennett is good as one of the four is CB's. Turner is OK, but I'm not sure his head is right under AN so I'd say another CB to replace him would be good.
