Not good enough. Dropped too many points at home already to some really terrible teams. I stick by what I said at the start of the season, if we're not realistically in with a chance of automatic promotion come Christmas, I want Adams gone.
But what is realistically in with a chance? 3 points off the play offs? 6 points off the play offs? In 1982 we won 11 of our last 14 games and were promoted after being mid table all season. Unless something absolutely bizarre happens, at this rate we will still be in the play offs by this Christmas.

Well at any rate, this season is by far and away our best chance of getting ourselves back to the PL and we can't afford to throw it away with a manager that can't get his team defending.

5 or 6 points
I would say that 5 or 6 points off with half a season left to play is a realistic chance tbh. Especially this season where no one team has looked like running away with it.

That's 1 win in 7, and for the first time this season I've started looking down the league, where we are 3 points from 12th.

Sounds like Howson had a good game, that's a positive, but have we got enough magic in our team? Fat or not, think we need to get on the blower to 'arry and ask him to lend us Taarabt.
I think you are right about the magic although I prefer the term of flair. And to be honest, we do not have a flair player. Wes is not a flair player. Redmond isn't.  Is VOO? Somebody like a Whittingham at Cardiff perhaps. Just someone who has the ability to alter things.

Either that then you have to go with the power game that Holt and Francis did successfully. But I don't see that in this squad either.

What disappoints me more is the performances have dropped off as well. We can't claim bad luck all the time and possession and shots don't mean anything if you concede.

But I still believe and am positive the players will get it right. I just don't want NA to panic and start making changes for the sake of it. Changes are meant to improve things.

At a rate of 1 point per game, over the next 9 games, we'd be very lucky to still be in the top half?
But I guess every team in the top eight has forums where the fans are wondering where the consistency has gone or is coming from. And many will be looking on the dark side at the moment. Its a natural reaction and indeed keeps the discussion going and the facts flying!

Well this is embarressing, I watched the game on the radio and didn't even realise that Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe featured, and then had a rant about him not getting any minutes.

At least I'm going to Sheff Wed on Saturday.

Can anybody tell me if he was any good?

I'm just worried about other teams gaining momentum and becoming too difficult to catch at the top, we were sitting pretty at the top of the league and it was our spot to lose.

Derby County are not only 10 games unbeaten, but possess the leagues current top goalscorer, and have kept 5 consecutive clean sheets. Are we as good as them?

I was only listening as well, but it sounded like Odjidja linked up well with Howson and had a sharpness in his runs at the defence. I'd like to see him get a start on Saturday in a 4-2-3-1.

Really we only got glimpses of VOO tonight but generally they were good. He looked to use the ball well and there was something of a sharpness about him.

But he also probably looks like he'll need a couple of games to get really up to speed and get used to the speed at which the game is played here and how quickly he'll be closed down.

Does anyone know what was going on in the community stand? I sit in the Jarrold and at the start of the 2nd half the stewards appeared to evacuate the whole of the community stand before bringing everyone back in 5 minutes later.

Also worth noting that Cameron Jerome filed a complaint of racial abuse against Bellusci the Leeds defender. I did wonder what was going on at the time, when Clattenburg went over and spoke to the 2 managers, obviously we now know why.

I thought he looked very composed on the ball and has an eye for a pass. He's also a real unit. Would need to see more, but a very promising cameo.

As for the wider debate, its very simple. We either get up this year or accept an extended spell in the Championship as our big names leave and are replaced with lesser players as the money dries up. Sitting back swallowing the sort of blinkered bullshit that the manager came out with post game and hoping that it will all come good because he's a nice chap shouldn't be an option. in my opinion he has to get at least 4 points from the next two games or the Board will be looking at alternatives.

No, we are not as good as Derby. I think many acknowledge them as the best all round team, maybe not squad, and probably have a good manager who really shouldn't have been given the England job but has now found his spiritual home.

Apart from them, nobody seems to have found any momentum or consistency. 9 games without scoring in the first half is our only consistency.

With respect why are we not as good as Derby? Have you watched them this season? I saw their game at Forest and they were very ordinary. I believe that, man for man, we have a stronger squad than anyone in this division, but I don't believe that Adams has enough about him to get the best out of it. Look at Cardiff, who also have a very good squad. They weren't pulling up any trees under Soljskaer yet Russell slade is unlocking their potential, which is why the Board need to be brave about Adams.

Out of interest Robin, what has sparked this in you? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen you so scathing!

It frustrates me to see no real change in approach when it's so obvious that it isn't working. Yes he's tinkered with formations and players, but we're still building ponderously from the back with two holding midfielders and allowing opponents to get set in two banks of four in a third of the pitch and then wondering why we can't find space. I really wanted Neil to succeed, but he doesn't seem to have any real clue how to get the most out of a very talented squad and we can't afford to let him learn on the job.I know that's harsh, but the Board won't make the mistake of hanging on like they did with Hughton unless we get some results very quickly/

Have to admit, that I'm getting very worried about Adams too. I'm not ready to call for his sacking, but alarm bells are ringing.

I haven't seen Derby this season as it happens, but they do say that the sign of a good team is one which can play badly and win.

I did say team not squad. The football I have seen Derby play, albeit on the FL show and on SKY has only been highlights but from what I have seen, they may not even have better individuals but play better football as a team. I haven't thought our football has been the best but just maybe our better individuals might see us through but it just isn't happening at the moment. For instance, I still can't see why Lafferty hasn't scored. He has had the chances. Why do so many of our players get in good positions only to ruin it with a poor cross or poor pass?

I do believe some of you are genuinely puzzled by the lack of form, no not form, lack of results and it is always easier to look at another team and pick out what you want to pick out. Two games ago and Neil Lennon was the business. Wednesday dawns and he isn't such a saviour.

DO we think Adams made some good buys in the summer? And if so, if we are in a challenging position by January, do you want him to be given more to spend?

If we were performing badly and looking lost I'd be concerned, but we aren't. 20 shots, 7 on target, 9 corners isn't a struggling team; more a blip due to finishing against packed defenses. Howson has looked sharp in the last two games and will get sharper, as will Hooper. Like others, I hope Odjidja-Ofoe is the ACM we have been looking for but he also needs to get match sharpness. I'm still optimistic about our chances. Derby needed a late penalty against the bottom club to get their 3 points. That doesn't sound like pulling up trees to me.
