It makes me wonder if Wes would even be getting a game if Pritchard was fit, what could have been, eh?

I'm not afraid to be critical of Wes, an amazing talent on his day, but all too often excused when he has an average game. But it does make me wonder if he is one of the old guard who isn't too interested in buying into what Farke is trying to do here. Wes is at his most comfortable when he is at the centre of things, and the whole team is there to support him.

eh? Wes done more than any of our other attacking midfielders and even with 0 movement from others kept the ball better than Maddison did at the weekend!

So Wes didn't have an awful first half then? And its all very well keeping the ball and going round in circles, but actually doing something with it is preferable

All the forward players had a poor first half, Wes included.

But if you ask the 24k fans there who looked most like making something happen / who tried to make things happen the most 95% would say Wes.

On the subject of Vrancic, I think there is a very good player in there somewhere, but as said Frank says further up at the moment games just seem to be passing him by. He's clearly got a great eye for a pass and judging from pre-season (which admittedly is something you have to take with a pinch of salt) he is capable of scoring goals as well. But he just doesn't seem that willing to get stuck in. Wes for example if he isn't getting the ball will come deep to come and collect it, Vrancic simply doesn't do that. Hopefully as he continues to get used to the league he'll begin to realise what he has to do to be effective at this level, but at the moment he's far from setting the world alight.
