I couldn't watch the cup game, which isn't the worst thing, did Darlin and Yongwa look like playing their way into the first team?

I didn't watch either (by choice) but by all accounts Yongwa did very well. Can't see him displacing Chrisene though. Who knows with Clement's selections however.
A win tomorrow would put us in the mix again. Which probably means we won't (like a draw). On paper we have to do it but the Championship continues to show any team can beat any other. Just hope we fight hard for the 3 points. Really need to kickstart our season it is starting to feel.

Not good. Fair play to Bolton though and I don't decry their win because they came to play football, not foul or roll over...nor were they cloggers. I can appreciate a team like that at least. Whereas, we were caught short in defensive midfield and our defenders had a day to forget. Both CBs and full backs really. Didn't help we seem to have had two off with possible dislocated shoulders and ended the last 5 minutes with 9 men because McLean had to go off. Vlad beaten by a deflection and also at his near post.

A charitable thought is that Bolton scored with virtually every realm opportunity (I bet their xG was much lower than 4 put it that way). We were sloppy again, gave the ball away too often. You couldn't say we were the better team. We look unbalanced having two wingers, great in the attacking sense but poor at defending.

I was right in just knowing what to expect today. Even during the game anything was possible.

Well summed up by sonic, terrible defensive display, I like Kenny but he doesn't get around the pitch which means there's more for Matsson to do, I'd take a wide player out and get Wright in the team

Me too and even add Field with Mattsson and Wright now that McLean looks injured.

Quite a lot for Phil to sort out.

The midfield is lacking legs. And I did wonder if Phil would push for a new 'keeper. Vlad is likeable but does he get you out of this league?

Are they hoping Topic can play a big part? They probably don't have a choice as he's soaking up wages and a squad space and even when he returns nobody will be keen on him.

At least scoring goals and losing is better than not scoring and losing.

How did we play with 10 men not because we had used 5 substitutes but because we had exhausted the 3 windows for substitutes? Amateurish.

Consider too the peanuts or nothing Bolton paid for their 4 goalscorers who are mature players. Puts paying £10 million for the likes of Crnac into perspective.
