Well I don't know what to do. My stomach doesn't know what's just happened. Amazing scenes at the end which I guess is the main thing.

Overall our performance was poor. Farke's team selection didn't pay off as we struggled to do anything really, and despite not really being under much pressure first half it wasn't overly surprising when we fell behind. A shame as well as just before that Krul made a superb save. The subs made a big difference and we got ourselves back in the game with a great move and brilliant finish by Onel. Should've scored again about a minute later and had he done so I would've blacked out and missed the end of the game. Then we concede another very poor goal. Problem was the formation was wrong to start with, so then when we went behind we had to react and go more attacking, so even when we scored because we'd made all 3 subs we were stuck on an attacking formation, with McLean at left back and one defensive midfielder, hence why it was so easy for Birmingham to break us down right at the end. Rather than being active and on the front foot we were constantly just reacting, which is the reason we went behind twice. There are a lot of lessons to be learnt and things that need to be improved following this game, but to be fair I don't even care at this moment. Absolutely buzzing at the ending of that game. I hate and love football.

Marshall and Krul both very good. McLean as well when he came on. Pukki showed some good moments and once the subs came on Hernandez came alive. The rest there's not a lot to say. Hanley had a bit of a mare.

It was a bit of a weird lineup by Farke in all honesty?

You'd expect one out of McLean, Leitner or Vrancic to be on the pitch at any given time?

Will be interesting to see what changes he makes for West Brom.

don't really know what to make of that, one what hand we've come from behind twice to grab a draw on the road which is always going to be pleasing, but on the other you feel Birmingham were there for the taking today and we really should of been looking to take the game to them from the off and come away with three points, though I think I'd of probably taken a draw going into the game

got a tough run of games coming up now, interested to see if we stick with that formation going forward or if we revert to the 3 at the back we played for most of last year

Isn't Vrancic injured? And we are also without both first choice fullbacks in Lewis and Pinto.

Vrancic was injured.

Stiepermann could have played left back and Mclean or Leitner been involved on the right up the pitch instead but not a massive amount in it.

Husband was poor though. Stiepermann not much better and they were our only LB options today.

Overall though, disagree the performance was poor. Scoring two and taking a point away from home is decent irrespective of anything else.

We mixed our play up a bit, we just werent great at it. By that, i mean our short passing was fine and in turn that occasionally created space as we drew them to us, but Hanley had a very poor game and his diagonals werent hitting. Its not Tetteys or Trybulls game either which is why when a player like Mclean came on we looked more effective. The tactics didnt drastically change.

I said on twitter and got a bit of stick for this but I think Farke got his team and tactics all wrong today, luckily he did notice that and changed it about but I suppose he is learning as well as everyone else. I said when I first saw that team that it was quite negative to play with 2 defensive midfielders considering some of the attacking quality he left on the bench (Leitner, McClean, Cantwell). Hopefully we will see more positive teams at home but Farke obviously wanted to start the season without the possibility of getting hammered.
I know we should get behind these players but I really can’t see how Husband and Stipermann managed to get in that team yesterday considering what quality we had on the bench.
This is sounding all way too negative but at least Hernandez was class, Marshall was class, and McClean looked handy!

I thought it was a really weird XI.

But with Lewis out then one of those would obviously have been playing, but I'd rather it have been Stiepermann at left back and then a creative player in midfield.

No point in all that possession unless you've got a Leitner or Mclean, or even Vrancic, with the ability to play a final ball.

But first games of the season are always a bit weird.

Isn't Passlack supposed to be able to play left back? Don't know where he's at in terms of fitness or whatever but I'd like to see him given a chance there next game if possible. Stiepermann I think is ok there and could do a job until Jamal is fit. Husband is poor.

I think we are genuinely having a bit of a problem because of the whole homegrown quota. Wouldn't surprise me if that's the reason Passlack and Buendia missed out on Saturday and Cantwell was included. Lewis will obviously add to that when he's back which is good but I also don't really know why we're not using homegrown Matthews as the sub keeper instead of McGovern. Yeah he's probably going out on loan but it's such a simple way of helping out with the homegrown problem. If Passlack and Buendia are as good as we hope they will be then we can't have them or other first team foreign players missing out and putting Husband in or whatever instead because we need to keep in line with EFL rules. It doesn't even have to be Matthews it could Oxborough from our youth side. He's highly rated but even if he's not up to the mark yet how many times do you need to rely on your sub goalkeeper anyway? We didn't have to once last season. Plenty of teams just have their youth team goalkeeper on the bench I don't think it's any sort of risk and if it means we have a bit more flexibility with the team then it's 100% worth it. It's not like McGovern is that fantastic an option anyway is it!

Left back is a bit of a worry for me. We all know Husband isn't great, Stiepermann "does a job" and actually despite all the hype and praise Lewis was poor in several games. He had half a season in the team and that could be divided into a good half and a bad half.

Certainly Lewis has got a shot because he's got a good touch, quick feet and a bit of pace.
