Been at work all day and having read this, I'm glad. Really don't see us staying up. Feel very deflated.
If Martin can't play right back now either, then sorry to say but its simply time to invest in his replacement. There was absolutely nothing from today to suggest Martin is a better right back than Whittaker
Basically, he's out of his depth now.I really am starting to question Alex Neil's tactical naivety now, and he better learn quick, because its costing us dearly.
We cannot have Redmond and Hoolahan in the same team, at least not right now, unless Redmond starts to share a bit more defensive responsability, far too often we are exposed down the right flank, and Whittaker gets the blame, or in the case of yesterday, Martin. Who, for the record, isn't as good a RB as Whitts, and doesn't attack as well either.
Alex keeps going on about how important it is to score the first goal, well whats his plan when we don't? We started brightly, then shat ourselves when we realised we hadn't scored a goal. But as bright as it was, I don't think it looked like a team who wanted to right wrongs from last week, there was little spark.
We went from one extreme to the other, Newcastle, way too open, then yesterday, way too compact, making Wes totally ineffective because he wasn't far enough up the pitch.
We desperately need some pace up front, I would have brought Grabban on yesterday instead of Jerome, our attacks were turgid and predictable, bread and butter for the baggies defence.
I actually believe you'll be fine. The club knew when Neil was appointed he was inexperienced. He's got you up and has 9pts already. Billy Davies's entire point total for the whole year! Pulis although we're 8th, he makes me want to stick red hot needles my eyes. Look at our cup game he played Vic Anichebe as defensive midfielder he wanted out of that cup. I expect the same for F.A. Cup. The canney bleeder knows the league though he does just enough to save his skin. If Neil doesn't get anything between now and christmas then maybe he should go, and, I only say that because his replacement should have the winter window. I think he'll get the results and If the board back him you'll be OK. Let's face it you could have SherwoodI really am starting to question Alex Neil's tactical naivety now, and he better learn quick, because its costing us dearly.

I think we'll be fine too, but he needs to get streetwise. I think perhaps a few fans got a bit carried with his record in the Championship, and expected more of the same this season.I actually believe you'll be fine. Different leagues though As much as I dislike Pulis's style. We needed him for Stability which we haven't had since Roy Hodgson really, he'll be Albion until our sale goes through. Sadly for Norwich the last time you were up you fell foul of Hughton's only truly bad season in mangement. That time the board waited too long to sack him. If Neil can get 4pts in the run up to Christmas then he should have the season. Otherwise, you'll be our position with Steve Clarke,Pepe Mel and Alan Irvine. Then it's so much harder to stay up. There are dire teams in this league, and, neither of us are one of themI think we'll be fine too, but he needs to get streetwise. Good point about Sherwood![]()
I think what you have benefitted from though is a bit of longevity in the league. Similar to us, you're not loaded, but if you can stay in this league and improve bit by bit, then you can establish, much as you have done after yo-yoing for a few seasons. And really the Hughton thing was a catch 22 for the board, they have said since that he would have gone in the summer anyway, regardless if he had kept us up. What made it all the more dramatic was that game against you, all we had to do was win, and we would have been all but safe. Not one person, either Norwich or neutral predicted we would lose that day, and we fell hard, and the board had no choice but to sack him.Different leagues though As much as I dislike Pulis's style.
