One area where Neil has been a success is in transfers. M' Bakani, Brady, Wisdom and Mulumbu are all good signings so lm confident we will only add to our strength.
Brady is a great signing. Jury out on how much the others have given us.

One day on and it stills looks bad, if we have any chance of avoiding the bottom three we've got to start getting our act together or we will be at Portman road next season and we don't want that. We need something to happen in January the board must act as they should have done in the last window. Half the players don't seem to be up for a fight if that's the case get rid and get players in that will.

Certainly not the worst performance I have seen, even in recent years. But, it was pretty dire, and to be honest I have to very reluctantly (very),have to 100% put the reason not down to the players,  but to AN who once again, yes once again, picked the wrong eleven and set the wrong tactics. Watford are average, and we set up like we were scared of them!

Stop tinkering and play your best eleven Alex, you are trying to be to clever against sides with coaches much cleverer than you.

Sorry, but that's how I feel.

Reading AN's post match, he touches on the fact that he may have picked the wrong team but really blames the way the players selected approached the game. Not one mention that his tactics are not working.

While Bournemouth, Newcastle, Albion, Stoke can beat the traditional top teams, we glow about taking a point off Arsenal, at home, and losing, losing mind, narrowly to two traditionally top teams.

And while we were not looking into the abyss of the bottom three, we have kidded ourselves that the fixtures will get easier and we will buy well in the January window. And to be honest, I haven't a clue other than naivety or blind faith why we are assuming this. And then a couple of wins by the teams below us and its looking tougher.

I posted last week that I believe AN has to be judged on how he goes about defeating teams who we consider to be on a par with us. And yesterday's performance coupled with his Hughtonesque belief that the players are not doing the job that he sends them out to do, convinces me the honeymoon is over.

I honestly don't believe we have the nous in that dug out to approach these games by changing the lineup game after game to suit the opposition. What knowledge do these guys have about the level they are playing at to consider that Tettey would do a better job than O'Neill, last weeks skipper, even if he is fully match fit at the time. Or that playing two wide men who were supposed to be supplying a striker who doesn't challenge in the box, so Brady has to hit low crosses into the box which are easily cut out unless pulled back from the bye line.

And just to say that Rudd did OK is hardly the public praise that Declan would have been looking for after a good start to hopefully a confident and lengthy spell in the team.

And that worries me when it comes to spending big money in the January window. Just maybe these guys who did such a great job last season are a bit out of their depth and need a bit of  a hand from someone else.

I believe it is time stop this six at the back and hope we nick one in the second half approach, and pick the best eleven in their positions and just get on with it with the best tactics to get the best out of that team.

Relegation is something that is always a big possibility for a club like us. Going down isn't the end of the world as we can still look forward to a successful next season. But it would be extremely hurtful to see us surrender our way back into the Championship.
