Perhaps but what did Jarvis do last week? Not much. And we lost the game.

On the subject of the right side, I would like to see a bit more of Wisdom. Without a decent run of games we're not going to see the best of him. And actually I would like to see more of him and Redmond together on that side.

Away from home a different proposition though, but I take your point.

Yeah liking Wisdom actually, bit scared of pairing him with Redmond though.

It was excellent against Newcastle.
i mainly agree. He played very well but for me not a MOTM performance like klose or mbokani that day. A good day for hoolahan and he will be motm. I think this is what they call an old chestnut!

Who'd want to be the Manager today, but what I do know is, that AN will most certainly tinker a little, something I have actually come to expect and understand,as that's his style.  Personally, I would actually be starting definitely with Naismith if its a choice between him and Hoolahan, he gives us so much more in terms of attacking threat and energy, even if it only lasts for 60-70 minutes, Hoolahan has the occasional great game but often is limited in his contribution, and I genuinely believe he gives the ball away at critical times, and is rarely a game changer like Naismith can be, regardless of what the stats say.

Also, I would certainly start with Martin and Redmond, even though I actually thought Jarvis and Wisdom have done OK, I just believe that Martin gives more and Redmond can, on his day, be a game changer..I just hope today is that day.

I really do not think Klose will be available, feels like a bit of pre match kidology to me, and he will be sorely missed, as he is certainly one of the very best CB's we have seen at our club for a long long time.

No big surprises, a solid lineup lets just hope they do the business & the officials don't go against us.

Looks like we are back to earlier season defending where the gap is huge and small mistakes all the time. Pressure from Sunderland has been good thought which seems to make some players nervy.

Unnecessary penalty from Wisdom, but that ref haven't done any favours for us. All the 50/50 calls against us near their box.

Defoe goes down he gets everything, but when Naismiths is bulldozed clearly behind, he says play on. Just affects the game as Sunderland has played very much on the gray area with their challenges and now they can just keep it going.

In Bassongs favour it clearly looked like foul, but again goal straight from our early season. Bassong takes too long with the ball and we pay. He has done that today quite a lot.

God damn we miss Klose.

EDIT: Just saw slowmotion and yeah absolutely clear foul and I have no idea why linesman didn't flag it.

And then we dont get the penalty. Rip frome the shoulder and then putting whole bodyweight on Mbokani whose balance was already off. 50/50, but once again we get nothing from ref where opponets both goals were more or less ref decisions. First one right and second not.

Can't blame the refereeing today when we started out of form Naismith and Jarvis ahead of our 2 best players.

All on Neil.

A corrupt official didn't help but that's it with AN now, totally out of his depth imo.

After the first couple of mbokani falls the ref was always going to doubt contact.

Yes there was a foul on Bassong but he shouldn't have given them the chance.

Their pen was stone wall.

We were never going to stay up hoofing to Mbokani. At least Wes and Redmond will play from now on, Neil always caves. Hopfully Redmond bags a coupl emore good games, I mean we'll need the extra money when we're in the Champs next season.

I'm just feeling gutted right now. We're down unless we can pull off a miracle in one of our next couple of games.

Sunderland were just better than us today.

Naismith was shocking today, maybe if he actually tried playing football and not spend the whole match trying to buy free kicks that aren't there and arguing with officials he might do alright, until then he can *bleep* off, wouldn't care if he doesn't play for us again this season, and leaves in the summer, he's done nothing since the Liverpool game, Wes should play ahead of him in every game now as far as I'm concerned

I think we deserved at least one penalty, the Mbokani shoulder one.

But we lost 3-0, and Sunderland were clearly the better side over the 90 minutes. It wasn't close enough for me to start blaming the referee, Sunderland came to our own ground and walked away 3-0 winners, we didn't turn up and they deserved their win.

Blaming the ref just feels silly, they were by far the better side on the day.

Who actually showed a bit of fight?

Really only Howson, Bassong, O'Neil and a bit from Mbokani and Olsson.

Hilariously cowardly performance from Bennett.

I've been really disappointed by him, other than his debut where he showed some class he just hasn't done the business.

£8.5m on a 29 year old and I have to wonder whether instead of pointing at Newcastle and laughing at their expensive flops or Villa and their highly paid journeymen, we may have one or two ourselves  :(

Ofc we cant blame ref for anything as we didnt score that equalizer anyway.

And yes Bassong made the second one happen, even thought he was fouled.

I also agree that at least one of Hoolahan/Redmond should have started in place of Naismith. I think playing Jarvis is alright decision as he is more compact than redmond defencive and Hoolahan is not a winger.

Was surprised thought Brady was replaced instead of him as Brady was having good game. Was there injury or something?

Also I would give good stare for our centre back pair as their display was very shaky teough whole game. Hopefuly Klose is back for rest of games
