Hi guys. Banned from pinkun for starting a post that stated " Ipswich Town are a football club as are Norwich, lets talk".

They are banning anything that references Nigels visit. Very odd behavior. Didn't even mention it.
Ps I don't like the international break.

I left partially when they cut off the non football forum. There used to be stuff there on things that happened in the daily news, about nature, culture and a lot of random stuff. All alongside discussion on Labour, the Tories, Israel, Ukraine, and so on. The trouble was it became a place where people couldn't avoid expressing their own fixed take on the world or even what you could call a kind of 'propaganda'. That was from either the right or the left. So it was a polarised place for politics.
Seeing how politics on the present Pinkun site keeps coming through (life is political after all) and the various contributions then nothing has changed. Posters get bullied and vilified for having different views. People cannot tolerate anyone who says something they don't agree with. They can't keep quiet and not post for example. Until you can actually see people agreeing to disagree then there's no way it will work.
As for Farage it was actually something that united the majority of Ipswich and Norwich fans. Those on the right of centre only rarely criticised Delia, who was clear in her politics but they didn't affect Norwich (in my view). People liked her for her life values. But you'll always have different views and one poster used to call them the Suffolk Socialists. So you can't get away from it.
A great shame people are banned for simply expressing a view but I used to get abuse even for showing a humourous cartoon. You need to have a thick skin. Something I've never wanted to develop or grow! I would rather be flexible as possible as I get older. I don't want to be fixed about anything. Perhaps that's the opposite of the idea that we harden our views as we age. And that's the reason that it's best that politics aren't discussed I think for me. People take such fixed positions. I don't see the point in that and dislike observing it in people I come across (not that I would ever tell them because it's their choice isn't it?).

What I might wish for overall is that folk realise a view is simply a view. And so what if it's different to one's own.

This site allows politics to be discussed (Morty moderates) and that's good. I learn more from people with different world views than I ever do with those similar to my own, who simply serve to validate them. And I don't need that validation, even though it's good to know others feel the same, it is isn't contingent on that validation.

Sorry for a long reply. I felt your post was a call for comment. I wish there wasn't the degree of censorship you've experienced but I've tried to give a take on the whole subject. As ever, I will immediately regret it as soon as I hit 'post reply'.

Re Ipswich, they have made themselves look very silly indeed here, especially their chairman with his cringeworthy apology.

If you actually look at the polls Reform are set to win 7 out of 8 wards in Suffolk.

So this is just another noisy, left wing minority, very similar to those in our club who had a wee cry when Truss attended a game.

Wow that is amazing. I think Reform and possibly the Greens will take some of the Labour and Tory vote across the country. I was sure almost 18 months ago that the UK would turn to Reform and Farage.if your Suffolk example is representative across the UK there will be a landslide. An anti establishment kind of vote (of sorts). Depends if people vote tactically of course, always a possibility.

Reform have topped the last 250 national polls, but obviously the mainstream media don't really draw attention to it. The May elections are going to be very telling for both the Tories and Labour. The Overton window has expanded in both directions, nobody wants wishy washy centre politics any more. The Overton window shift could be a thread in itself, politics is on the change in a big way!

Don't mean to offend anyone with this and it's just my opinion but I think the greens are incredibly dangerous for this country right now. They will be popular with younger voters though

I completely agree, and am not offended :D

The path that has led us to where we are politically, right now, is absolutely mental!

No offence for me either. I don't think they're ready for national government. I'm probably on a different part of the political continuum to you Frank and I support the Greens locally. We've had local green councillors for a good while and they are far better at responding to local issues. Far different though to nationally.
My main worry in terms of danger right now is nothing that's happening in the UK but the possibility of the war spreading. Lots of talk in Sunday papers about US troops going in next week.
Though perhaps there is a view that the UK should be involved?

To be honest, local council is just about getting the bins emptied and keeping the street lights on.

You probably wouldn't like my assessment of the current Green party, in the national sense :D

The greens have changed massively in the last couple of years, I used to think of them as meaning well but quite naive, now, they seem to have forgotten about saving the planet and they're getting involved in parts of politics that they haven't done before. They think that if we all have a group hug everything will be ok when it won't :p

The mods on the pinkun seem to be quite selective with who they issue warnings/bans to. Probably doesn't help that there are a couple of posters that have a bit of influence with that too.
Agree on the international break but I still have local football to go to

I don't even understand why talking about this is an issue, surely there are no legal implacations?

I have greatly enjoyed absolutely ripping the piss (perfectly legally) out of the binners on Twitter, over this.

I wrote a long response but then decided to delete because I bored myself so didn't wish to inflict it on anyone. I don't mind what is said is the quickest reply.
