Exspect to be in top 6, hoping to finish in auto promo places..Think that the first few games, 5 or 6 will be a steep learning curve and then after, progressing quite happily.. Just hope that the fans will give it time to click, some on other sites seem to think that we are as good as promoted, a defeat or two will certainly set their pulses and fingers racing. Some have already got us down as the rubbish and will be agitating for changes, some already are..I just wish that I could be there with you all, well I will in the winter for a month. Did think long and hard this year about re newing my membership, but sanity prevailed and my card no 577 will be waiting at my daughters place for my winter pilgrimage..As always, looking forwards to the season. Enjoy everything fellow Canaries

I don't know why, but O'Neil signing makes me feel even more confident about this year. We have a very solid midfield, even without Snodgrass.

All I really know about him is his playing record from looking on the web, what I am more interested in with a signing of this type is his character. Apart from his obvious experience, I suspect some strong characters in and around the dressing room may be what NA is looking for to help the overall blend of the team. I don't know if this is one of the men for that job but he may be.

I have been a supporter of NA from the start and know him from when he managed my son in the Academy, I have the greatest respect for him as a man and as a manager. We'll soon find out if the latter is well founded.

What I am absolutely sure of is his recognition that a team spirit will be the single most important factor if we are to succeed this season, I think NA will be working really hard to achieve this and it will be reflected in his signings.

So yes I agree with you, the signing does make me feel more confident and hopeful that Neil is building a squad and a "team"

Barclay seats. I did not refer to you as a pant wetter just because you were negative, as negativity is often apt if you're a Norwich fan, last season was testament to that.

I referred to you as a pant wetter because the comment 'We don't look like we could win a single game in the Champs' is absolutely ridiculous.

I hope you understand why that is a total over reaction to a pre-season friendly.
No I don't understand . I watched the game ,,, we looked poor ... Against a side people are trying to big up ,, in reality they were only championship standard.

For us to have a chance of going back to the EPL this season , we need to be considerably better than we looked against Celta Vigo.

That was my point ... It still stands as far as I am concerned, my opinion.

You are entitled to yours ,, it's just that we do not agree .

Celta Vigo are a top half La Liga team. Streets ahead of the Championship, and as much as you are entitled to your opinion, it is wrong.

If there is anything we can learn from our previous pre-seasons, it is that results aren't often indicative of the type of season we are going to have. We had a fantastic pre-season under Bryan Gunn, and then got thumped by Colchester 7-1.

We are also typically rubbish on the first game of the season, so who knows. As things stand both us and Wolves drew against Celta Vigo, which sets up our game nicely and doesn't give either team a psychological advantage. They are a strong team and finished top half of La Liga last season, they would probably be one of the stronger teams in the Championship if they were in it.

I said on another thread, at least we got the poor performance out of the way and can iron out any mistakes this week in training. A shaky performance could be a blessing in disguise, we needed a team to cause us problems after thrashing a few substandard teams and perhaps getting a bit too over confident.

I think Adams will get a lot more time than Hughton, rightly or wrongly.

I also think, though, it's a much different scenario. We've gone from being relegation candidates to a promotion outfit. So obviously the expectations are a lot higher this season.

The good news is - as it stands we have a very good squad. If it stays roughly the same than regardless of who the manager is (even if it were Hughton still!) - we should be very competitive regardless.

Me personally, last season has gone, I consider it Hughtons tenure and Hughtons fault. He's gone thankfully, so we can now all move on. Fresh start in my eyes for Adams and for the players. What happened last season is now irrelevant. I thought there might be quite the turnover of players (not that I wanted to - I dont think the squad we had should have been relegated, I think mismanagement saw them underperform, so I didnt think we needed different players) and so I was willing to give the team plenty of time to gel and adjust. However, turnover has been minimal, so I now feel that despite the need for a change in focus and attitude, the players should know each other well and so should hit the ground running. Im concerned we might be in for a shock when we play Wolves, as Im not sure the pre-season has been robust enough, and we all know what happened first day of the season last time we were relegated. But this is not the sinking ship that Norwich was. I think we have a talented squad for this division and we should be challenging for promotion at least (if not the title) if the players perform to the best of their ability.

I wont panic if we dont have a great August, but if we're not the dominant team on the pitch and climbing the league in September I will be concerned

So far we look impressive going forward but suspect at the back so want the latter improved

This league is all about consistency and mental resilience, one game not important but we will soon know where we stand, 7 games probably

Expect quality play and a min play off spot

Relegated? Bloody hell, that is some pessimism right there.

Feasibly, Norwich are going into the season with the best squad in the Championship (as long as they don't lose anymore after RvW). Relegation hangover is always a hard one to judge and it is never clear how long a team will take to overcome it, will be interesting to see how they fair in the first 30 mins against Wolves and whether they look confident or not.

Having said that, its a long season and Norwich's first game of thier previous Championship campaign didn't go to well.

I'm not sure the extent of your knowledge of European football but Celta Vigo are not Championship standard.

After the last few year of constantly staring at the bottom of the league it will be nice to finally actually think about something other than relegation. Hopefully we'll see some football that gives belief back to the fans but I fear a return to dark times. I really hope we can get promotion at the first time of asking but on the flip side it's a bit of a poisoned chalice. While the thrill of success and promotion are great, what is to be gained after that? The money is certainly welcome, but then we are stuck in a league where we know that finishing 10th is possibly the best we can ever hope for and the threat of relegation is constant.

At least for the time being anything is possible and it will be nice to approach all the games knowing that we can win them all on our day.

Yes, Ginja, it's a pleasant change to be looking forward to matches again and hopefully winning more than we lose.
