Just wondering how many of you do.

I always do simply because I always have since I was a kid. It's just a habit now.

I don't wear colours, but I also make an effort not to look like a 'soccer casual', there has to be a happy median. I do like some of the old retro shirts though, saw somebody with a 1975 Poll Whithey shirt on at yesterdays game. The first shirt we had a with a sponsor!

I stopped wearing them following a run of 7 /8 consecutive defeats with me in the colours (2004 ish I think)    I do occasionally where one but we never do well - so just superstition.

And its probably better for the general public that a larger gent does not try to squeeze into one either!!

Always worn one since i first started going,  so putting on my colours is now just a regular part of my saturday.

although last week i was unable to, as I left my shirt at Uni,  and it felt very strange not being in yellow at Carrow Road.

When I do make games, it's part of my routine. I guess its a bit silly really when you're 23, but I've always done it and probably always will.

Every single time I watch us play. Even if I'm sat at home watching it in front of the tele I'll still wear colours!

I'm quite proud of my collection, only needing 3 away kits to have every single home and away shirt since sponsors began (Poll Withey for us). I used to go more retro depending on the quality of the opposition (don't know why) but some are starting to get into pretty bad shape and cost £100+ so they just sit in the drawer now.

I do pull the "bird poo" kit out for really tough games though as it just brings me a sense of extra belief. Strange person I am :D

I only manage to get to away games in general and for the last two seasons I cater for a rugby club on every other Saturday afternoon so don't get to many. But I always wear the shirt and still prefer the one we used for the 2011-12 season.

Why is it silly at 23 ? I'm over 50 and still wear one now and again, mainly at away games.

I don't know, I just know people that see it as a bit of a kids thing I guess. Not that I'm too bothered about it!

I'm 63 and delighted to wear the colours. If it was a kids thing they wouldn't make them in adult sizes. Also, I think it is a kind of "we come in peace" symbol.

However, I do draw the line at wearing them around town or the absolute no-no of on holiday. I absolutely loathe walking into a bar abroad ( apart from an away European match obviously) and seeing guys sat there with their football shirts on.

I tend not to wear the shirt when watching from the opposition's terrace at away games

but other than that, yes, every home game I get to, and usually at home when I am listening on the radio/watching on TV!

I will even have beers and pie at the ready for Friday night's match on TV!

Since I stopped playing footy regularly I have steadily, expanded in the midriff area!

Footy tops have become an absolute fashion no-no since then! I do wear colours though - scarf, tasteful fleece top etc!

My son however, has every top since he started going in 2010 and as we are about to move I debated with him chucking the older, ones out- not,a chance!!

Seems the normal thing to do but I didn't wear one yesterday as I went straight from work. I'll wear it every time now on!

I don't think it looks childish as long as you're not there in the full kit!

As for wearing them on holiday and about, i only tend to do that if i'm off to play football really. I don't really find them the most comfortable material to wear everyday. I'll wear it to the pub if i'm off to watch a game there as well.

Always do, mind you a bright yellow shirt does not look that great on an overweight woman of a certain age! So I always wear the goalkeepers shirt which is a little more forgiving.

I've never understood the idea - when I started watching games in the early '70s I don't think anyone did wear shirts.  Colours - yes, but the shirts were something special and it seemed improper to cheapen them by anyone else wearing them.

In 1978 I became aware of folk wearing Argentina shirts around the university campus during the World Cup - partly because it was a neat shirt - but this may have started the trend.

When the marketing guys realised that they could make a handsome profit out of fans then I guess the die was cast.  If a team with unique colours like Norwich bothers to have an away kit, and be contractually obliged to wear this kit a certain amount of times a season, then you know the marketing men have taken over and it's more about money than practicality.

Nevertheless, I can see it's a way of giving the club money and therefore productive in that sense.  However, I would prefer to give the club money.

As an embarrassingly  very overweight late fifties Grandad, I rarely wear a shirt alone but I wear my green Aviva away shirt either under a jacket or under one of two City sweatshirts I have so as not to alarm children, horses and ladies of an especially nervous disposition.

I bought my sweatshirts from the Club at an open day when they were selling off used training kit some years ago and am sure they belonged to that embarrassingly large fitness coach we had in Roeder's time.

I chose this seasons away shirt for the very same reason, black is very slimming!
