We need to stop now, because these values are getting beyond ridiculous.

10mil is the sort of money we could get a more proven striker from abroad (more than likely a good international as well) for, and so far despite clear potential, Afobe has not done enough to justify anywhere near the suggested 14mil they are asking for him.

I'd rather go into the season with Jerome, RvW, Lafferty and Loza than have us pay way over the odds for this guy...

I doubt Grabban would accept a move there, thats the problem.

Otherwise, it's a great idea!

To be honest, if the choice is go into the season with our current set of strikers, excluding Hooper and Grabban, or pay £12/14m on Afobe, I'd sooner we went for Afobe. If Jerome gets injured and Grabban and Hooper leave then we are f*cked if we don't have someone else. Whilst £14m is probably more than he's worth, I'm confident Afobe could do well at this level.

Afobe is bigger and stronger than Gayle, much more AN's speed. He's also a couple of years younger and arguably better.

Gayle would end up like another Hooper.

Dwight Gayle would cost £9m, why not him?
Bristol City had a bid accepted of £6m, so we might be able to get him for that.

We'd be better of going for Glenn Murray thought tbh, who would cost £5m.

If we lose two strikers, say Grabban and Hooper, we may be better off signing two strikers to replace them?

I can't wait for this window to close, the endless speculation is driving me potty.

I'd be disappointed if both Hooper and Grabban left and we didn't bring in 2 strikers. My ideal replacements would be Austin and Murray, but I think that's unlikely. I think it's more likely to be Murray or Walters or both, with possibly 1 who isn't even on the radar yet.

See that wouldn't really be worth it. Le Fondre is only on loan, 3rd choice and we also have a very promising striker who scored in the league cup on his debut the other night, who is widely considered the best prospect we have had since Robbie Keane. We haven't replaced Sako and are struggling so losing another important piece could see us fall off massively.

If the offer gets stupid (or more stupid!) and they have someone lined up that they know they can get then personally I would accept if you go higher than £10million.

I like how some of the Wolves fans have been complaining about AN's comments on Afobe in his presser earlier on. It's not like Wolves confirmed the press speculation about our bid instantly or anything.

Wolves don't tend to speak to the press about anything, it was very unprecedented for the club to mention there had been an offer and even then it was a definite no, not for sale, the only thing the club did since then was for Jackett to confirm he would still be a Wolves player once the window shut.

I have seen a few fans commenting on how AN was talking about Redmond needing to stay and improve with you, and comparing that to the alleged leaking of all the transfer bids by Norwich, as SSN news to have had an up to the second line on the bids and the values, and that wasn't coming from Wolves as far as I can tell.

Started today too, so hasn't done a headsgone at least.
