Benik Afobe

Pretty much word for word what I was intending to say Gaffer.  Wolves took Afobe and gave him a chance. For him to demand a move half a season later would be so ungrateful and disloyal that he would not be the kind of person we want in the club. How long would he stay with us?

How long does he have to stay at Wolves before he isn't ungrateful and disloyal?

Sorry guys, but that's the sad reality of modern football.

Being fair, if someone had just got a new job 6 months back and then another company of a higher profile came to headhunt them and double their wages, how many people do you genuinely think would stay loyal and how many would instead take the money and run?

Every Player has a price, always been the same story....   the price his club wants and the price the potential club puts on him

This just keeps adding the pressure onto Wolves, and giving the player more reason to start causing a fuss should he want to move, all of which is potentially great for us if we can get a deal out of it and not get gazumped by the likes of Newcastle.

Don't think there's any chance this will happen, I think our bid will be swiftly rejected again unfortunately.

If our strike force though come the end of the window is Jerome, Afobe, Murray and Grabban, I would absolutely over the moon. Don't think it will be though. I think it's more likely to be Jerome, Murray/Walters, Grabban.

I wonder if we'll get rid of RvW and Lafferty? Hooper to SWFC building momentum.

Hoping for - Jerome, Afobe, Grabban, Walters
Think it'll be - Jerome, Grabban, Murray, Lafferty

Your hopeful strikeforce looks wonderful. If we get rid of Hooper and use Lafferty I wouldn't be so happy though.

Tonight's team should give us some insight on how close these Hooper/Turner deals are.

Apparently our first bid was £6m, and this latest bid is £8m.

Hi guys, as I was bored I was reading your site to see what you were potentially saying about Afobe, this £14 million price tag hasn't come from Wolves. Wolves don't conduct business in the papers and this seems to have come from the Daily Mirror from what I can tell, saying that I wouldn't imagine it's far off what our board would ask for. Is Afobe worth that would be another matter, however he signed for £2million and apparently has a 25% profit sell on clause for Arsenal, factor in the cost of a replacement in the over inflated striker market at our level, Afobe's contract, the start he has made and how important he is to us, and I can see why anyone that does sign him will be paying through the nose.

Tremendous player but I would be wary of hammering that much money on him, although had a good start to this season even though we have been pretty dire and I would back him to be a decent Prem striker.

As a Wolves fan, wouldn't you want Gary Hooper as part of the deal?

I don't know enough about him to comment. My thoughts are that is he not very similar to a player like Le Fondre? Afobe and Dicko are both pacy and very mobile, if we were losing Afboe then Dwight Gayle would be the person or the style of player I would want us looking at as a replacement.

I suppose he is more like Le Fondre in style than he is Afobe, yes, but he's a lot better than Le Fondre.

Le Fondre is a poor mans Gary Hooper.

Hooper is a poor mans Jermaine Defoe.
