True forwards we look short on, but we've got such a wealth of attacking options in midfield that i think we could 'make do' with short term injuries, Redmond up front, even Murphy would both cause threats, and we have cover for them wide.

But is not Lafferty our only 'big man' option? I think Adams likes this approach, and i can only see Becchio as a possible replacement if he was to get injured.  I know he's not as big, but he can do the target man role.

Becchio's lay off to Howson v Man City was the highlight of his city career for me.

I can only think that there's an attitude problem that is insurmountable. He did send a very negative tweet about Adams' appointment. Otherwise he would seem a good option to bring on if we're chasing a game.

We're clearly holding him back in the way Mike Brearley used to keep Ian Botham away from the new ball.  Expect him to come on after 75 minutes and score a quickfire double in most games this season.

Or for him to be sold, obviously.
