I blame house prices for the downfall of society. I bought my first house in 1998, for £52,000, a new build 3 bedroom semi detached in North Walsham. I was earning £25,000 at the time. It meant that I could just about afford to live off the single wage, pay the mortgage and let my wife stay at home to bring up our children. 28 years later and that scenario literally no longer exists, and the streets are full of feral skip rats that have been dragged up because mum had to go back to work when they weren't even walking, to help pay the mortgage.

My oldest son and my daughter in law managed to get on the housing ladder last year, they both earn good wages, no children, but only managed to buy with both sets of parents chipping in to help out.

I said, many, many years ago now that if the average man in the street, earning an average wage, couldn't afford an average sized house, then the whole thing would collapse. It hasn't happened yet...

I don't disagree, however if prices now fell 15% presumably your son and daughter in law would be trapped in negative equity. That's the problem with wanting to intentionally bring down housing prices by mass building, it is probably necessary for the good of society but isn't victimless.

Hello all. Another émigré.

It is shocking - I would be surprised to see a massive exodus.

The real question is what is Cambridge Canary doing with his time. Has anyone organised a welfare check ?
I think a lot have gone to Hogesar's forum?

It seems ok tbf. Nothing wrong with having two decent forums to replace the lazy Pink un. Shame on them for spoiling my memories of buying the actual pink un post match but sobeit.

Yep. That was the reason I was loyal. Used to buy a copy on a bridge just outside the ground. Weird that such a thing can have an emotional pull on you but I suppose I was very young and impressionable. I used to think it was a marvel to get results and most of a match report literally 20 minutes after the match.
But the Pinkun message board has failed many times imo. A shame for probably hundreds of users but such is life. Here and OTBC are sound and arguably better alternatives

He's alive and well on the other forum. No need for any welfare check. Think he's been on here in the past as well
