Would you swap Becchio for Kei Kamara?

This isn't a rumour or news, completely hypothetical.

Kei Kamara has become an unpopular figure at Middlesbrough after he threw his toys out of the pram (after contracting Malaria),and Boro are in the market for two new strikers - he has been told that he is a backup player. Becchio seems to have also fallen out of the management here and Adams has pretty much confirmed that he is available for transfer.

So what's stopping us from approaching Boro with a proposal to swap Kamara for Becchio? We did similar to get Morison off the books? Would you be happy with such an arrangement?

He had his strengths, the ability to leap like a salmon was one of them. Becchio is clearly not part of things at Norwich?

Here's another scenario - would you swap Becchio for Morison?

I'd probably make the swap.........mainly because he could offer something, obviously Becchio is going to offer us nothing this year due to him being so out of favour.

I would have to say yes, just on the basis that Kamara would offer something different to what we have. I'm not advocating having him back.

I liked kei and there's no doubt he was a big figure in the dressing room. I would take him over Becchio who has done exactly nothing in 18months and no manager wants to play him for some reason. Even if just for being a team spirit building guy in the dressing room, at least that's some kind of contribution whilst Becchio seems to offer nothing at all

Just remembered that his best friend at the club was Bassong, wonder whether he would be quite so cheerful in the dressing room if he thought his mate was being treated unfairly? Or could he be used as a way to get Bassong back on side, if his relationship with Adams is repairable?

I would swap Becchio for a new version of Dean Coney at the moment simply because a situation has evolved at Carrow Road whereby we are getting no contribution at all from the player. Anything is better than nothing.

I liked KK's attitude and contribution whilst he was here, as did a lot of us and I wouldn't mind him back in the yellow for this season.

The problem is that Becchio might very well  return to his old ways of scoring with appalling regularity at 'Boro, and they have to be viewed as one of our rivals this season.

I don t get how a proven Championship scorer in Becchio has fallen so far behind.

Is he surely not worth a go at this level with us.? How can we judge on a handful of appearances when he has had pressure to perform?

Kamara was really a very very average player at best, the hype about him was totally unjustified and he proved it really when he was here and at boro

Morison had an attitude problem and fell out with Tierney.

Becchio is a proven goal scorer in this league and has been for a number of years

It's not rocket science really

To be fair though, at this juncture, I would swap a Becchio for a handful of magic beans

I wouldn't, but someone of his type maybe

KK was v average as a player but performed better than becchio while here. In fact for this three months only he was as good as Holt, who unfortunately at that stage was at his worst for us. Two players left that summer who had been the preferred starters, while becchio remained and languished.

Yest performance suggests there may yet be a place for becchio, seb and Pilks...

That conspiracy theory was well and truly debunked when Sky went and interviewed Holt & Morison live on TV at the races, and sitting next to Morison was..... Marc Tierney.

If it were that simple, though, don't you think he would have been playing? There's obviously something that you haven't included in your equation.

I would say yes to Kamara swap for Becchio, because he offers both height and pace and would suit Adams' attacking style.

Yes. For one KK was ahead of Becchio when they were both here, and whatever your thoughts on KK, he did have an impact on the pitch in some games and on the dressing room as a whole. Becchio (ignoring the arguments on whether he has been unfairly treated or not) has made zero impact on the pitch, and is probably a negative influence in the dressing room. Becchio for whatever reason has been deemed 'unusable'. Something which is baffling, mystifying (in that this is the situation yet we keep him on the books) but it is the situation. Swap a player we wont use for one we will? No brainer for me

As most, clear Becchio isn't going to get a chance, KK has a massive smile and is a presence so would probably say yes with how things stand.

Mantra being that *something* is better than nothing. But if I was manager I would be getting Becchio firmly back on track with us, much better than KK, who has shown himself at a few English clubs to be no more than average.

There's always the possibility he could click tho. Its about the same as me turning up at the beach with a six pack however! ;)
