What's he done wrong today
I think Martin is our best right back, and so I'd play him there for that reason. Has more composure on the ball than Whittaker and can put a good ball in on the overlap, as well as score a few from that position. Ideally we should be signing a centre back (rather than a right back) and have Martin and Whittaker compete for that right back spot.

Conceded a goal, if you watched him in the pre-season you'll also see that he wasn't very good.

If he is going to be our main CB for the season then I'm certain we will be no where near promotion.

Utter rubbish even the commentators said he wasn't at fault. The run wasn't tracked from midfield and Martin was marking Dicko

If you think so, but IMO with him at CB we are going nowhere.

Redmond needs dropping, as do a fair few of them, utter rubbish. Lafferty looked alright and ruddy did well but the rest were poor. Not a chance we will go up based on that performance. It looked like a hughton game all over again

I think he just got the selection wrong and the tactics wrong, and I think that was evident to most as soon as the team sheet was announced. That game underlined the importance of Leroy Fer and Gary Hooper staying at the club, and in my opinion the need for Russell Martin at right back and a centre back arriving.

A nightmare come true.

No promotion for us this season.

We have a duffer on our hands.

Disjointed and embarrassing to the extent that NA has managed to replicate the dark days of Peter Grant in a few short months of cluelessness.

So thoroughly disappointing.

What an awful line-up, what a naïve tactical approach. Duffer!

Worth pointing out we are often rubbish in the first game of the season though, lets be thankful that it wasn't at Carrow Road where the boos would have rung out at the final whistle. Is it true that the players didn't clap the travelling supporters? I really hope not?

Adams needs to stop playing players out of position. That'd be great.

Anyway - POSITIVES.

The 10 minutes before Olsson got sent off, we looked like we were starting to get some flow.

We still have Fer (maybe),Howson and O'Neil to come into that terrible midfield, hopefully in place of Johnson.

Hopefully this has shown Adams that the diamond is a dead duck, given that the lack of cover given to the full backs was a direct result of the red card.

Looking forward to seeing what we look like with O'Neill and Lafferty in the team, should remember that only one of Adam's three signings started today - and he will make use of the youngsters, so not writing us off after one game, especially an away game to Wolves on the first game of the season. Both of our next two home games will be tough though, and then its Ipswich

I really hope it was just opening day jitters! Hopefully next weeks home game can restore some faith, because after today's game I have a terrible sinking sensation.

Have to agree it felt like we were growing in confidence and improving, a goal was possibly coming for us but I guess it just goes to show the fine margins in football.

Not too concerned by a 1 goal defeat away from home on the opening day of the season, but what concerns me is the nature of the defeat.

We lost this because of some decisions that came from the manager in my opinion. Two big moments. Firstly, Adams' choice of tactics for this game. First you have to consider the type of opposition we are playing and the type of game you expect, and secondly whether you are home or away.

The diamond IMO exists to harness Hoolahan's talents. You want this when you expect to dominate possession, and your width comes from the advancing full-backs. A game where you are against weaker opposition and hope to have your CBs sitting on the halfway-line.

Nothing about Wolves away suggested this was the right tactical approach. I think most of us felt we needed a packed midfield, a strong combative central midfield, a big man up front and some genuine counter-attacking width.

Instead he played Redmond up front, Surman and Hoolahan in midfield in a diamond formation.

Tactics wrong wrong wrong. And something most of us said. If this is an indication of his tactical prowess we're in for a long season. Adams seems to be pandering to his favourites (Martin and Redmond) already, and freezing out those who arent.

Second big managerial fail was Olsson. He was clearly injured when he over-stretched and was a yard off the pace. This continued throughout the game, and ultimately saw his dismissal, and hey presto 2 minutes later we've lost the game. I saw the decision not to sub him as a poor managerial decision. But Im wondering if that was a bit harsh having seen how poorly Garrido played when he came on. All subs too late, barn doors, horses and all that

Stop making excuses fellas for what was a truly awful performance.

Not one single meaningful attempt on goal in what was the most disjointed and meaningless team display since the dire days of Peter Grant.

I am a genuinely and normally a positive supporter and look for the plusses and excuses when they are few and far between.

If anybody can defend this rubbish today with logic please do.

It was a duffer-inspired nightmare come true.

We haven't just lost a game, we have lost a season.

Come on now BroadstairsR. I know you're upset, we all are, but don't you think you may be over reacting a touch?

I can't come up with an 'excuse' as such, but I do know that we matched Everton on the first game of last season with Van Wolfswinkel scoring and Whittaker playing like a Brazilian.

And that it wasn't the slightest bit indicative of the type of season that we would go on to have.

That's partly my point really.

We did struggle at times last season to compete but it was against the Evertons of this world, not ex-league one sides.

Wolves couldn't believe their luck today and any manager who seriously thought that a bunch of lightweights which included Andrew Surman (terrible today, let him go to Bournemouth) Wes Hoolahan (can be effective, but nothing today) Elliot Bennett (why is he suddenly flavour of the month, he was always limited) and Nathan Redmond (SHOULD be out on the touchline permanently) could get us points at Molyneaux today has to be the most naïve manager in the entire history of NCFC.

It was doomed from the start. It was obvious. We were awful and even Hughtonism at it's direst would have put on a better attacking show than today.

No excuses please. The season of reparation started today. It could not have been worse.

I have no confidence that this clueless yes-man can get us back into the Premier League. Has anybody? Be honest
