Also, how can it be knee-jerk when this was Adams's sixth game in charge and we haven't won one, or even looked like winning one, including yesterday's. IMO he failed to impress at all during his temporary spell, and I'm not just talking about the predictable results but more the fact that he added nothing of note to the party. He came over to me as being more than slightly confused by it all and his post match justification of his failure to 'give it a go' for the last quarter of that Chelsea game confirmed this. It made no sense at the time, as Mourinho himself pointed out.

Some will argue that the very appointment of him on a permanent basis was Championship (mediocrity) thinking, especially when there were more qualified and experienced candidates around.

I wouldn't want to go quite that far, but neither was I over-the-moon with the appointment in the first place. The general feeling of our support was, indeed, one of disappointment, whatever alternative they favoured.

The Wolves  supporters didn't seem to think that they had been up against a side who had, a few months before been plying their trade in the Premier League either. They couldn't believe our 'mediocrity' as a quick glance at their forums will tell you. They had anticipated a much tougher reception on their return to the Championship.

Anyhow, I'd much rather be proved wrong than right over NA, so let's hope that the Watford game proves this one to be beginner's bad luck.

Don't think we should judge him on the 5 games last season, nobody in their right mind expected us to get anything out of those games considering the lack of morale and the disruption. He should be judged on results this season, and so far we only have one to judge him by. It is worrying that we have two very tough home games and then the Derby though - I do wish that the Ipswich game wasn't so early on in the season. Could we sign Grant Holt on a one week loan?

The core of the squad from last to this season is consistent enough to draw some if limited comparisons.

There remains an enormous assumption that the last five games can be ignored because of the opposition. Those performances were poor, but excused. Similar poor performances against teams a level and a half down should not, esp after a close season building your squad and style. There can be no more excuses.

What worries me is how many formations have been attempted in just 6 games, is that not being responsive but suggests indecisiveness

I'll say it then. I think Adams appointment signalled exactly this. I can't pretend to get inside the mind of the board - none of us can - but, equally, I can't believe that promotion was their prime objective given there were experienced managers with track records available. Adams first five games were a failure, we should already have sufficient evidence on which we can assess the likelihood of sucess or, indeed, failure. The tactical indecision, strange team selections and disquiet in the squad provides further evidence that it was always an outsider which was needed.
