Got to be honest, I've already written this game off.

Tottenham has been in great from and seems only getting better when season goes on so again very hard game to get anything out of it. Spurs play quite narrow with their 4-2-3-1 , so key again is keep it tight and with the pace difference between our defence and their attack I wouldn't rise the line too much. Eriksen is quite good to find thouse pass routes behind the line.

Hopefuly Tettey is fit. We need him badly in this game. Another thing is that we really should let Olsson to start with Brady on the wing. Just look games where Olsson has started. Outside of Newcastle massacre and Chelsea + Leicester games he has played most of those games where supporter's consensus has been that we did good. Also even thought I dont fully agree with all the hype Brady has got, but his performances upper on the field were where he got those. Form of both Brady and Wes has dipped when their roles were altered. If AN don't want to use Olsson then we should buy real left back or another full defencive midfielder to cover Brady.

My line up would be.

Pinto - Klose - Bassong - Olsson

Howson - Tettey - Dorrans - Brady

                   Naismith

                   Mbokani

Both Dorrans and Howson were bad against Liverpool, but in my opinion we need 3 men central midfield. Dorrans allows Tettey to roam and Howson can support Pinto with Eriksen and Alli better than Vadis or Redmond. Wes was ok against Liverpool and has orchestrated most of our goals, but with three men midfield I think Naismith can put more pressure for their build up plays and offer Mbokani better support when he holds the ball up.

Last time we were in the Premier League we generally did well against Spurs (even managing to beat them at home in Hughton's final season if I remember correctly),their front 4 though is terrifying and if we defend the way we did against Liverpool then we'll concede about 10. I do love mid-week games especially against the bigger clubs, always a great atmosphere, but I'm fearing the worst for this. We also have Aston Villa away and West Ham at home in the 2 games after this, 2 massive games and we need to be going into them in high spirits. A heavy defeat here on top of the collapse against Liverpool last week will not do anything for our confidence.

Team:

Ruddy
Pinto Klose Bassong Brady
Howson Tettey Mulumbu Hoolahan
Naismith
Mbokani

That's the team I'd go for, but in reality there's no chance Mulumbu will be playing. I imagine it'll be that team but with Howson alongside Tettey in the centre with Redmond/Jarvis on the right, as well as Rudd in goal rather than Ruddy.

I'll say 3-1 Tottenham. If we play how we did for the first hour against Liverpool then we will at the very least be competitive, if we play how we did in the last half an hour of that game we will get thrashed.

For me it would be

Ruddy

Pinto  Klose  Bassong  Brady

VOO  Tettey  Mulumba  Jarvis

Naismith

Mbokani

Bench - Rudd, Bennett, Olsson, Howson, Hoolahan, Bamford, Jerome

This does mean no place for Nathan but he has been ineffective of late, and possibly a bit thin on midfield support. I'd also like to see Whits get back on the bench. He always suffered having Martin as CB next to him and Nathan in front. I think he is a lot better than most of our fan base give him credit for. Some of our best footie has been when he has had an extended run in the team.

Martin needs to be sold. Been a great servant but just not up to the job anymore (hasn't been for 2 years really).

Not expecting anything from the game but I think we need to settle on a spine of the team and let them get used to each other. Too much chopping and changing helps no one.

jarvis has looked off the pace since his return for me so far and redmond wes naismith showed excellent creative link up play.  Howson would start left in place of the deeper dorrans if we move to 4141 instead of 4231 - Dorrans is simply marginally more effective in the def midfield role than Jonny.  But as its spurs a 4231 is the call for me.

             Rudd

Pinto Bassong Klose  Brady

      Tettey  Dorrans

Redmond Naismith Wes

          Mbokani

Subs:  Ruddy, Martin, Olsson, Howson, Jarvis, Bamford, Jerome

I seriously would bench him, I know he is our captain, but very bad form as of late, unless he benches Klose or Pinto, cant see R Ben being dropped

I fear the worst for tonight I'm afraid.

Martin appears to be past his best and is not improving.

AN says that he wants us to have lots of possession, be a defensive line up I should imagine.

Rumours of a sickness bug going round the squad, you may see Martin tonight yet.

Sickness bug story has been over exaggerated. Has affected a couple of players, that's all (and no, I don't know which ones!)

Thing is, this Manager is very difficult to second guess when it comes to our starting eleven,  expect a surprise......and my money is on Ruddy starting.

looks like the usual 4-4-1-1 to me, would of liked to of seen Bennett recalled, good to see Mulumbu and Tettey in the middle as I expect spurs to have a lot of the ball
