Thing is, WBA are a strong team in terms of both quality and they are full of big, strong lads.

But yet actually today we've gone out with two makeshift fullbacks and only one truly combative, defence-minded midfielder screening a two man central defence that we've struggled to get results with.

And yes, we played some very good stuff in the first half because we had a lot of good players on the pitch. But as soon as WBA were able to get a foothold in the game our weaknesses were exposed and punished.

Is Tettey actually fit enough to play at the minute? Only seen two lots of highlights but he looks like a cripple in every clip he features in.

Surely Godfrey or Thompson would be better than a half fit ageing Tettey? Had no pre-season and then thrown straight in to league football.

Pukki and Rhodes both getting on the scoresheet is a huge positive though.... Rhodes instinctive finishing and desperation to get on the end of things may be exactly what we've been missing up top (give the next penalty to somebody else though!).

Was always a risk just playing Tettey in that deeper position. At least have one player who can drop and help. I know Leitner dropped but that was only to receive the ball and dictate play, he offered little from a defensive point of view.

Quite late but there were certainly positives to be taken from this game. Our attacking performance was superb. Hernandez was sensational, Rhodes' movement was very good, Pukki showed some really nice touches and it's good that both of them got of the mark. Leitner was class, and has so much quality on the ball.

As good as were offensively though, defensively we were a shambles. I did say before the game I wonder if it would if it would be worth playing 2 defensive midfielders just while we're still getting used to Farke's way of playing. There was so much space in the middle of our midfield when West Brom broke, and all their goals were so poor to concede. Krul had a nightmare as well, better just hope it's because he hasn't played regularly for a while rather than he's actually poor. As for Rhodes, I think he will come good, he just needs a confidence boost. He's getting in the right positions he's just not quite able to finish it off. The good thing as well is the fact that we're actually able to get the ball into him, something we struggled to do with our strikers last season.

Gonna be interesting to see how we react now next game. There were undoubted positives, but also things we need to improve.
