Sorry daft busy at work and haven't got time for a fancy thread with pics and stuff!

Much bigger test than last week, in my opinion.

Mustn't get carried away with last week. If Wednesday sit and wait we might just have to be patient. No good throwing ourselves at them just to get hit on the counter. Wes will be double teamed I suspect so that should create space for the full backs to exploit the wings and get the ball into crossing positions.

was going to say I'd expect the line up to be the same as the blackburn game, but just read that Jacob Murphy is only 50/50 so he may not feature, id imagine if he doesnt make it Alex Pritchard would likely come in.

Brady in for Jacob Murphy, also Morris and Canos make the bench, Pritchard not in the 18

Nothing to get excited about first half. We just seem to find it hard to break down teams. Injection of Murphy's width ought to bring more chances second half.

OK, so its feet back on the ground time. This division is going to be tough, there are some good sides, some good managerial talent and clubs with financial backing.

It would be nice to think we can play attractive football and walk through teams. That may happen from time to time but hard scraps are more likely to be the fare of the day. We can do this but we need to recognise that it is going to be tough and stay with the team when the going gets tough.

We also need to recognise that a draw can sometimes be a decent result, even at home. As Paul Lambert used to say if you can not win make sure you do not lose. We did that yesterday. We were, or were not allowed to be, at our best against an organised side who it would be no surprise to see up there at the end of the season. A disappointing game, but bottom line is that we got something from it.

I don't think it was anywhere near as bad as some are making out (I'm looking at you, moron behind me in the lower Barclay). It was a frustrating game to be sure and I think Alex Neil's assessment was spot on in that we didn't keep the ball enough so I can see why we took off Jerome for Mulumbu, who |I thought was great when he came on.

Draw was definitely a fair result. Quite why the bloke behind me thought we'd been "dominated from start to finish" and was "the worst he'd ever seen us play" I don't know, but I hope he's not there again on Tuesday!

Should add, I did tell him to shut the feck up 15 minutes from the end and he did, with a bit of a grumble. Might get that in before kick off on Tuesday so I can watch in peace.

Good to hear that Mulumbu looked impressive, was worried that he was here for a payday so if he's up for it then could be like a new signing for us.

He was never here for a payday, I spoke to him quite soon after he arrived and he came across as a genuine bloke who wanted to do well for us.

Would you have expected him to say he's here for his £40k pw and golf after training?

Haha where abouts do you sit in the lower barclay? Sounds like a fella just behind me.

Overall a draw was what we deserved on the day. Not much cohesion between the front 4 and it seemed most of the time everyone was looking to make one extra pass instead of putting the ball on frame.  I felt Naismith and Wes, more so Naismith, wanted to make the perfect pass to set someone up for an easy tap in.  It just wasn't there though. Wednesday did well to keep a solid line at the back.

It also seemed to me our most potent attacks came from the right side when Wes and Pinto were combining.  The left was good up until Olson went down with injury and Brady had to move back.  Josh seemed to be a deer in headlights for most of the match, which brought Wes to the left to help out and essentially abandoned the right side.

I am interested to see what the lineup looks like tomorrow. Mulumbu played well and the 4-3-3 look at the end of the match seemed to work decently. Regardless, Saturday was another point toward promotion and Tuesday is a chance for 3 more.

There's people like that all over the ground. Bloke behind me just shouts nonsense for 90 minutes every game. Genuinely heard him say one game that he thought Redmond was 'one of the worst wingers we've ever had', whereas in his eyes Martin Olsson can do no wrong. People are f*cking annoying tbh.

We'll see what he looks like after the window closes, for all we know there may have been a Marseille scout in the stands  :p

Interestingly, or not, some pleb behind me used to constantly slate Redmond and then the management for not picking Josh Murphy ahead of him.

Unfortunately after 10 minutes of Josh coming on he was slating him anyway.

As for the game, I'm on holiday at the moment but from what mates and people on here have said it sounded like a disappointing follow-up to last week's great result and performance. That said Sheffield Wednesday will undoubtedly be up there this season so a draw against them isn't the worst result by any means.

Also sounded as if we really struggled to break down a team who sat back and were organised defensively. Obviously this was a major problem at times last season (the home against Middlesbrough the most obvious example),but you would hope both the management and the squad members who were here that season will have learnt how to deal with teams setting up against up like that by now. I also think the squad we have this season (assuming we do bring in a quality striker) is much better than the one we had last time, so you'd also hope that we attribute to us having less problems breaking defensive teams down this season.
