Well its been a funny old season, hopefully we can finish it on a high, and give the players departing a rousing send off, remembering the better times they gave us.
I expect some will want a bit of a grumble but I intend to enjoy the day.

Little point grumbling; fond farewell to Ruddy; suspect it will be mainly and unchanged team but in such a meaningless game I would like a start for one or both Maddison & Godfrey.
Would be pointless starting RyBen - but I have said that for a couple of season ;-)

Ruddy deserves a good send off. To be fair, so do Bassong, Whittaker and Turner. All key players for us at one point or another.

Russel Martin says the players who were leaving all found out on Tuesday morning. Says 5 weren't a surprise but Ruddy and Bennett were. Asked if we would be top 6 if we had changed manager earlier he said "Yes" and wen't on to say that wasn't an assassination of Alex Neil, but there were too many players not playing to their potential. He goes on to compare what Webber is doing to what happened when Paul Lambert came to the club. On criticism of him he says it comes with the job, and doesn't let it worry him. He is a contracted player here and wants to remain involved.
He says Steven Whittaker has a few options in Scotland and with Championship clubs. And Naismith wants to see his contract out here, but obviously what happens next is up to the club.

Its a bit weird that Russell Martin has been given license to pretty much talk like a managing director. There's that strange twitter account from a local Midlands journalist who appears to know a hell of a lot about our club at the minute too. I'd like to think this is Stuart Webber pulling strings behind the scenes like Malcolm Tucker and he's aware that Russell Martin is media trained and has told him what he is free to say.
As for Naismith, he is only ever going to say that he wants to fulfill his contract here because of the way that loyalty bonuses work. If the club accepts an offer for a player then they are entitled to their full outstanding loyalty bonus, but if a player submits a transfer request then they are not. Signing on fees don't really exist now, they are called "loyalty bonuses", so if 10% is typical then that's £800k if he stays for the entire 3.5 years of his contract.

Me too. Not fussed about the rest really, but he's one of the few last remaining players from that epic Lambert promotion season and the first Norwich player to win an England cap whilst playing for us in decades.

Released players were given the option if they wanted to come into training, Mulumbu, Bassong, Turner andf Bennet didn't, and won't be involved Sunday. Ruddy and Whittaker have trained, Ruddy definitely starts. Wes and Tettey trained all week, Oliviera has had flu, but will train tomorrow.

Hmmm...is it wrong for me to have a "go get f*cked" attitude towards Bennett, Mulumbu, Bassong and Turner? I mean the latter 3 are at least getting on a bit but Bennett to not bother continuing to train? Not only is he a naff footballer, he's lazy too!

Yeah I think thats fair enough, perhaps Bennett didn't think he'd get a very good sendoff, he's pretty active on social media, so knows a lot of fans opinion of him.
I feel a wee bit sorry for Mulumbu, I don't think he has been lucky with injuries and when I saw him play a few months ago, it looked like he actually cared.

You've got to give a lot of credit to Whittaker. He got a lot of stick from some fans, unfairly in my opinion, but he wants to put one final shift in like he always did.
