Would love Srbeny to get a goal, some have already written him off

I watched QPR vs Fulham recently, and QPR did well....they are another team than runs a bit hot & cold and are not to be under estimated at home. That said, we shouldnt be under estimated away from home...

We're not too bad away from home, and as a win for QPR here would put them within 2 points of us, it'd be good to get something here and put some space between us. Obviously we're not going down but we wanna try and be as high up the table as possible. Anyone know if Hernandez is back fit? I doubt it considering he wasn't even in contention for Fulham and that was only 2 days ago.

Team I'd go for:

Gunn
Pinto Hanley Zimmermann Klose Lewis
Tettey Vrancic
Edwards Maddison
Srbeny

Subs: McGovern, Raggett, Reed, Hoolahan, Murphy, Watkins, Oliveira
If Hernandez is fit then I'd have him starting ahead of Edwards. If Hanley isn't fit enough to start then I'd give Raggett a chance ahead of him. Murphy was shocking against Fulham so I'd have Edwards come in and take his place. He admittedly wasn't on the pitch for very long but you can tell he's got something about him, so in preparation for perhaps getting him back next season if he's good enough, we should give him some game time.

No idea what the result will be to be honest, a win, draw or a loss wouldn't surprise me. It'd be nice to finish above the scum though, so the more wins we can get between now and the end of the season the better.

So frustrating from us, again. We actually started pretty well and played some good stuff for the first 25 minutes or so. Gradually after that the tables began to turn and we became a bit sloppy, allowing QPR into the game more. We do end up getting the goal though, even if there was an element of fortune about it. Must have been less than 30 seconds later, and we didn't even touch the ball, and it's in our net. So annoying.

Hoolahan playing well, Husband isn't. Nelson decent in flashes but still doing stupid things occasionally (there was a moment where Murphy was in behind and Nelson ran towards him giving Murphy no options in the box, rather than peeling off his man and getting in a good position. Need to get Maddison more involved.

I really want this to work but I’ve got to say this is a really poor result

Transitional season with nothing to play for or not I don't care, that was absolutely embarrassing. QPR fans towards the end singing "Easy, easy, easy" is f*cking humiliating considering for long spells QPR weren't even that good and are below us in the league. This as well must be the 7th or 8th time this season that I've said that our performance was pathetic.

Wes is literally the only player to come out of today with any credit. The rest ranged from anonymous to downright terrible. Also what is Farke doing in terms of his subs? We're losing the game and for practically the whole of the 2nd half, and the only change he makes is Lewis on for Husband in a straight swap at left back? What the f*ck is the point?

The worst part is we actually looked good early on and deserved the lead when it came. Within 30 seconds of that without touching the ball QPR had equalised, and within 15 minutes of half time they were 3-1 up. No defending that no matter who you are.

Can't wait for this season to end, on today's signs though there is an enormous amount of work still needed if we want to be anything more than slightly below average Championship team.

We were decent until we scored......and then absolutely terrible, shocking in fact. For me not one player comes out with any credit including Wes who I actually thought was disappointing and looked out of touch (not a surprise really). Farke didnt appear to hardly get up of his arse to show the team any encouragement and looked like he didnt really care.......well we do!

These things are usually what you associate with a manager who has lost the plot.

So if he’d have been standing up it would have meant he cared but because he sat down it meant he didn’t ? Can we have a little perspective please.

I wonder how many people are beginning to regret their season ticket renewal.

We've got a below average squad and Gunn, Reed, Tettey, Oliviera, and Maddison are replaced by players of the standard of Watkins and Husband in the summer then we're probably going to have a League One standard squad.

First, anyone who regrets renewing after this weekend probably shouldn’t have renewed in the first place.
Second, why would Husband be a replacement for any of those players mentioned ?
I can understand people being p1ssed off after today, I am too as that clearly isn’t good enough but let’s not get too depressive, we have a few players injured that would currently walk into the team.

Lack of subs is a fair and genuine concern when you consider how poor we were. Opportunity to go direct which we didnt take.

Maddison offered little and there was sloppiness from everyone generally. I thought Wes done well and tried to make things happen despite being played out of position.

I personally want to see how this project unfolds but with any more performances like that we may not get to as fans wont (and rightly so) accept too many before the calling of heads starts.

??

"replaced by players of the standard of Watkins and Husband"

E.g. Selling Maddison and attempting to replace him for £1m, which is effectively what our transfer policy seems to be now.

Howson>Vrancic
Murphy>Watkins
Olsson>Husband

Don't think GJP will be moaning about Klose as much when its Franke or Raggatt playing in his place.

I think it may be time to start questioning whether we're going in the right direction here. We all know we needed to generate some cash and reduce the wage bill swiftly.

But when you've signed 17 players and 4 loanees and find yourself in 14th, in bad form, and below Ipswich.... it may be time to question whether our transfer business has been good, and I don't see any reason to be optimistic that it will be sufficient in the summer.

Can say that Zimmermann and Trybull are very good signings.... but can we say the same about Franke, Stiepermann, Watkins? Seems like we've accrued a fair bit of deadwood already. Allegedly Franke was £2.5m.

Hanley is a good player, but he's one we actually paid a proper fee for.

We're going to actually have to spend some serious money in the summer (reinvest the Maddison fee) if we've going to challenge next season, I can't see it happening to be honest.

I can't see us being anything other than a mid-table side for years now to be honest. We've signed a lot of players who wouldn't look out of place at Rotherham in League One, can any of us actually see James Husband becoming the new Adam Drury?

These players have all got 2 years left, its not going to be easy to shift them.... which means we're going to be using them.

Husband is no better than Toffolo, and what exactly was the point in helping to develop a Man City player for a year when we could have just kept Declan Rudd.... is Matthews really going to be an improvement on him? Seems to be keeping a lot of clean sheets at Preston.

We're shopping on a lower mid-table budget, and it doesn't look like we're going to be punching above our weight based on our transfer record so far? Hardly signed a Grant Holt for £600k or a Hoolahan for £350k or a Drury for £300k have we..... we've got Watkins, Husband, Srbeny.

Its reminiscent of the Doncaster years, and the revolution is spin.

I know that we've not going much choice, we're skint and plugging gaps in the finances, I don't believe that these mythical generous super rich football lovers exist anywhere so I'm not calling for boardroom change (its pointless),I'm just being pragmatic and denying that we're seeing any sort of revolution whatsoever.

We're just seeing what always happens with teams who lose parachute payments... high earners shipped out, cheaper players brought in and hoping for the best. We're just going through what QPR have already done, after they lost their parachute payments a year earlier than us?

We're doing exactly what we did under Worthington/Grant/Roeder..... every club does it when they lose parachute payments, and we just have to hope we don't f*ck it up quite as much as Doncaster.

Oops ! Oh yeah, sorry I missed that bit :) I get your point but having said that,we shouldn’t need Husband to be the new Drury with Lewis in the team and everyones been slaughtering Oliveira anyway so it’s not like he’s going to be sorely missed is it ?

I can't wait to see Oliveira leave, but any incoming striker is most likely going to be equally shit unless we actually find a few million to buy a proven one. There are exceptions (like Waghorn for £1m).

Personally I'd like to see us start buying the best of League One again, look at the quality we got out of that league in the past.... Pilkington, Bennett, and Grant Holt from League Two.

Those types of success stories are the reason I won't write off McLean from Aberdeen.

But we seemed to have bought half of Germany because of the supposed good value, but I'm sure there's at least one decent player in each position in League One somewhere and yet we seem to have neglected to look in that league.

Franke, Srbeny and Stiepermann all look pretty dogsh*t to me. Sort of balances out the Zimmermann, Trybull and Hernandez successes. Jury still very much out on Vrancic, personally I think he's being played too far up the pitch most of the time because he hasn't got the legs for it and needs to be a deep player like Surman.

Husband and Watkins are League One standard.

I'm just saying that our transfer business has been very hit and miss so far. Its probably what you would expect with this much change and tight finances, but it does mean that next season is going to just depend on our summer luck again.... and I think its much more difficult to get lucky with attacking players, we need to spend money on somebody proven or take a punt on Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison from Peterborough at £3m each or something.

James Maddison fee needs to be reinvested, we need some real quality.
