Norwich City are set to be without the services of Harrison Reed for the New Year's Day meeting with Millwall at Carrow Road.

The midfielder was forced off early in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Burton Albiondue to a hip problem, and won't recover in time to face the Lions.

That leaves Head Coach Daniel Farke with a decision to make on Alex Tettey, who ended up playing the bulk of City's match at The Pirelli Stadium after replacing Reed.

Having chosen to heavily rotate against Burton, the Canaries are set to be boosted by a refreshed James Maddison and Alex Pritchard - who made late cameos at the weekend.

City's options are also enhanced by Grant HanleyJames Husband and Wes Hoolahan coming through their respective injury returns unscathed.

Marco Stiepermann is set to miss out with a groin issue, while Cameron Jerome (back) is moving closer to fitness.

Finally, longer-term absentees Matt Jarvis and Louis Thompson both remain sidelined.

Tettey has to play , forget Chelsea which means he will have time to rest. The good news for you all is I’m at work and won’t be at the game so expect a comfortable win ?

Yeah I hope Farke has learned his lesson with the cup games. I would be happy with 4-nil to us.

Agreed with what was said in the Burton match thread, if we do win this then the Burton result does look a bit better. 7 points from a possible 9 and hopefully 3 clean sheets on the trot would be decent. The thing is beating Millwall is far from a given, and if we perform how we did on Saturday then there's no way we'll get 3 points

Obviously the fact that going into the Burton game it was a fixture everyone was saying we need to get a win from, and then we only come out with a draw, is frustrating by itself. But I think the nature of our performance was the thing that really angered me, and I imagine it's the same with most of us. It was just so pathetic, and that combined with the team selection are definitely the reasons there was a hell of a lot of negativity after that game. Rightly so as well.

Farke really has no excuses for this one. He rested key players and sort of paid the price for it on Saturday. If we drop more points here his head is really on the chopping block. Maddison, Pritchard, Murphy and Lewis have to come in. Really hopefully as well Tettey can play, as said above we can just give him a rest against Chelsea. I think Farke will have learnt his lesson as well and won't go all out in the cup game as he did against Arsenal. Hopefully 2018 will be a lot more successful for us than 2017!

Thank God for that.  Not a good first half from what I gather, but a much improved second.  I hope we have Maddison for the rest of the season, I would fear for us without him, amongst others.  OTBC.

Maddison scored the winner but did little else. Still, not a bad knack to have.

Thought Josh played with fire in the belly and it would have been between him and Trybull for MOTM.

Yeah Trybull or Josh for motm for me.

Oliveira absolutely dreadful.

Pinto plenty of effort but pretty poor too.

Much needed win!

I thought first half for 25 minutes we were actually pretty good. Moved the ball really quickly and opened up pockets of space. Great ball from Murphy and Oliviera missed it completely. Pritchard with a great chance from a corner and Hanley too. Millwall came into it after that.

Before anyone asks, no I’m not going to go to work every time we have a home game ?

Without being able to see it again I think the ball took a nick off the defenders head before it got to Oliveira.
It didnt, certainly didnt change trajectory of ball (i sit lower barclay behind the goal). Millwall player jumped and missed. Although it was a header and Oliviera seems confused by them regardless if its a chance on goal or not.

Think you're being a bit too harsh on him these days.

Hey! I said he had a good game against Wednesday despite a couple of very poor misses.

Today he couldnt hold onto the ball, couldnt contribute to play, couldnt win anything in the air and missed another good opportunity. He is trying, but Jerome has previously been heavily criticised just for the misses when the rest of his game was very good. Currently Oliviera is offering very little.

But most strikers have times when they go off form. And patience has been in short supply with him.

But basically there were good offers for him in the summer, we didn't let him go even though he wanted to go and we have an unhappy, disillusioned player on the books.

Much better that, makes up a fair bit for the Burton game. First 20-25 minutes we moved it really nicely, and had control of the game. We did start to lose that a bit as the half went on, though didn't deserve to be a goal down going into half time. It was a great strike by Morison, but I have to say if Gunn is better positioned then there's a good chance he saves it. To be fair though I was thinking earlier I think that's the first time I've thought 'Gunn should've been doing better with that shot' this season, which goes some way to showing how good he's been this season. Our best player for me this year after Maddison and Trybull. 2nd half we looked composed, we didn't panic and as a result it didn't take us long to get back into the game (though the equaliser was a soft one to concede by Millwall). In the end we got the 2nd goal which we warranted. Fantastic ball from Pritchard and cool finish from Maddison. Well earned 3 points, albeit against a Millwall side who really had nothing.

My man of the match would probably be Trybull, who similarly to how he was doing earlier in the season was everywhere today. Great header for the goal as well. Close 2nd for me would be Josh, who probably put in his best performance of the season. He was beating players, looking positive and was unlucky with a couple of efforts on goal. His decision making was spot on as well. Maddison got better and better as it went on, and was running rings around Millwall towards the end. Pritchard I didn't actually think was amazing, but what an assist for Maddison, and those two clearly have a great understanding. Defensively we were great. Pinto again wasn't at his best, but the rest of the defence was solid. Special mention to Jamal Lewis who was brilliant. That footwork in the last few minutes where he skipped 2 Millwall players was great, and he has potential to be a really good player. Nelson was poor to be honest, I personally would've got him off for Jerome a fair bit earlier.

We have a really tricky run now, which I put in the Burton thread, but we play 6 of the top 10 and Ipswich. We're going into that run though on a positive note and hopefully as a result we can perhaps pick up a few surprise results.

Not much to add to the above really, other than I had the pleasure of seeing Jamal Lewis play in front of me in the second half, and he was absolutely outstanding, it is incredible to think that this was only his second full game for us, he looked like he had 50 games plus under his belt. The lad has a very, very big future ahead of him. Maddison, utterly unplayable at times, the price must start at 20m, reminded me of Steve Macmanaman.

I found it odd, on twitter, after such a much needed win, the first thing some people could think about was slagging Oliveira off, some people just seem determined to suck the joy out of everything.

So that's now comparisons to Macca and Becks. Both of whom played for Real Madrid.

Who next? Zidane?

I would suggest Maddison's lack of pace and physical presence will keep the figure below the £20m. Despite taking that goal very well he actually messed up a few promising situations yesterday with either the wrong pass or a slightly wayward pass.
