Can't see many changes as I assume it will be too soon for the new signings. Assuming they sign today! Though maybe a few places under threat may give some a kick up the bum *cough* *cough* Nelson *cough*.

Both new signings have been playing regularly for their previous clubs, so wouldn't be out of the question to maybe see them on the bench Saturday?

Hope so. Not a fan of January signings who aren't ready or close to being ready to make an impact.

I'd love to see the new lads playing Saturday. I'd make a point of perhaps starting Srbeny (an IN FORM striker) and dropping Nelson just to give him a bit of a rocket and see what happens.

They are already training today, so who knows?

Can't see any of them starting either, but would be great if we could get as many as possible on the bench. Anyone know if Edwards is in contention?

Think it'll probably be the same team as Sheffield United, except maybe Vrancic back in for Reed. Assuming we stick with the 5-2-2-1, which I think we will at least for this game, we now have so many options competing for 4 spaces. Murphy, Maddison, Edwards, Hoolahan, Watkins and Hernandez all competing for the attacking positions, and Vrancic, Stiepermann, Leitner, Trybull, Reed and Tettey all battling it out for the holding positions. That's 12 players! I know a couple of them are injured or not ready to play yet, but if at any point in the coming months we have everyone fit and healthy it's going to be a nightmare for Farke (although one that he probably won't mind too much).

After reading through that it has to be said it's hard to rule out the possibility that Maddison will be sold this window, unfortunately.

Anyway, on the game, you literally never know what to expect with us, but this is going to be difficult. We're a lot better away from home so I can see us nicking something, but wouldn't put money on it. A nice win though to make our bounce a little bit higher after signing some new players would be lovely!

News from the presser :-

Hernandez and Leitner eligible to play tomorrow, they are waiting on paperwork for Srbeny, but should be sorted. Farke cagey on who will be involved, as only had one training session with the team. He goes on to say that ideally he would replace departing players with academy ones where possible, but would always want players who are desperate to play for Norwich City. His first choice would be English players, but feels they cost too much, so we have to be creative. He likens Leitner to Pritchard, and says although Srbeny has to prove he can score goals at this level, he sees him as a good replacement for Jerome. He implies that this is a second chance for Leitner, much the same as Trybull.

He praises Webber for working hard and scouting Europe to make this transfer window a success.

He has had a good conversation with Tom Trybull about extending his contract, but didn't want to say more. Not sure how to take that.....

He says Marcus Edwards has to learn more about playing without the ball, he is brilliant with it. He has worked well this week, but needs to learn more. He needs to have a more grown up attitude and be better defensively. Doesn't sound to me like he has earned a place just yet.

Herr Farke is looking forward to the transfer window ending, and doesn't foresee any more business, but you never know....He reiterates that there have been no bids whatsoever for Maddison.

Tom Trybull back in training, but tomorrow may be a bit too soon. Marley Watkins much better in training this week after a frank conversation. Vrancic has a deep cut on his leg, late decision will be taken. Wes has pain in his abductor, will miss this weekend and be back in training next week.

Ivo Pinto unavailable, he injured his knee getting out of the car (WTF??) and it is swollen. If anyone reading this can play right back, please get in touch with Mr D Farke, care of Norwich City football club. Farke says that he has players that can fill in a game at RB, mentioning Tettey, Trybull, Reed, or even Watkins! Someone just reminded me that Reed played right wing back at Wolves and actually did okay!

Yeah Reed would be my choice, he seems to have the right attributes for it. Hopefully this makes Webber and Farke realise we could really do with a back-up.

The timing's not great but at least this'll give Pinto a bit of a rest.

Annoyingly my stream is a few minutes behind so I got a notification on my phone saying Maddison had scored well before I saw it. Obviously I was still pleased when the notification came through but I would've preferred to have seen it live as it were. Not that I'm complaining though :D

Fantastic goal though. Probably his best of the season which says it all. Would rather he scored it in the 85th minute than the 5th though, dunno if I can take another 45 minutes of holding onto the 1-0 aha. COYY!

This is agony this 2nd half aha.

Hernandez for Josh, Srbeny for Nelson and Trybull for Vrancic (who's been brilliant btw) the changes I'd make as we near the end.
