We should beat these, in theory? But we could be just one home defeat away from total fan meltdown.

Would be nice to see a return for Oliviera, as Cameron running himself into the ground for 65 minutes then fading really is doing us no good.

Blackburn are a sh*t team with a half decent striker, and you just know that our defenders have got it in them to make Danny Graham look like he is 26 again

Don't put your house on it, although we should beat them comfortably, some of Blackburn's results haven't been bad.

I've seen them play a couple of times recently (though not for very long) and they played some very decent stuff. And at this point they have more to play for than us.

Why the massive boos when he took Pritchard off for Whittaker?

Were the fans arguing that we should have gone 3 at the back, or that a different player should have been taken off?

Felt a bit bad for Irvine getting those chants after 24 minutes when he's basically doing us a favour?! Gets some credit from me for dropping Naismith and just sacking off Lafferty completely after he didn't break a sweat against Newcastle, and giving his spot on the bench to Maddison.

Thought Pritchard was unlucky to be the one off.

But clearly Whittaker had to come on.

But he couldn't exactly take Hoolahan off after it was reported that Alex Neil thought he was finished, surely that would have got boos too?

Perhaps Josh Murphy then? But then that could have knocked his confidence, the least experienced one and living in his brothers shadow this year.... so yeah, just harsh to boo Irvine for that. He had to take one of Hoolahan/Pritchard/Murphy off and none were ideal.

Also, on the wireless it sounded like Pinto was a beast in the second half.

3 at the back would have meant taking Pinto off, so Irvine probably made the correct decision to take off an attacking mid?

Thought the boos for the Pritchard substitution were pathetic to be honest. I genuinely don't know what some fans expect Irvine to do. Whilst I do really like Pritchard he was the most logical option to come off, even ahead of the less talented Josh Murphy.

Hard to judge the players too much on that performance as they were visibly shattered after 70 minutes because they had to work that little bit harder throughout due to the sending off. Jerome was excellent, Pinto and Howson worked their socks off, and I was actually impressed with Tettey and Bennett as well first half.

To be honest though win, lose or draw today the game was always going to take a backseat to what has happened and will happen off the pitch. Hopefully by the time we next play we'll have a little more of an idea of what's going on in that regard.

I agree about the booing and chanting at the substitution. I was disgusted at the fans who participated in that. I did sympathise with the chanting aimed at the board although maybe those singing it need to be made aware that they (DS and MJW) can't actually be sacked. As much as I wanted the change of manager I think the club has made themselves look foolish and lacking class allowing AN to hold his press conference and then sack him later that day. Why not Weds or Thurs? Maybe Ed Balls had a prior dancing engagement. Poor form all round for me. AN deserved better than that.

As for who should have been taken off, Josh had set up the goal, so was unlikely to be the one and he had been taking them on down the wing with some success (limited). I always felt it was either Pritch or Wes and I have to say that I would have taken Wes off as Pritch has more energy for 90 mins. Having said that, I wouldn't have argued either way. The substitution had to be made.

Pinto was superb in the second half. I love that guy!! And to be fair, Ryan Bennett made a lot of crucial interceptions in the box, so had a decent game overall.

I was most disappointed in Wildschut when he came on. Looked like he didn't have the stomach for the battle apart from one decent run which came to a sloppy end. And why McGovern?

I think the ref played too big a part in the game with his inconsistent application of the laws. Didn't see the red card challenge up close so no idea exactly what happened but Irvine did say it was a definite red so it must have been.

Overall, I think with 11 we were playing well and looked up for it. Red card shifted that significantly unfortunately and now Djiks has an extended ban as well.

Wildschut looks like he hasn't got a clue where he should go or what he should be doing. At the moment he looks a long way off being good enough but maybe he just needs time and a run of games.

Completely agree about McGovern. Reminds me of Mark Bunn, a good shot stopper for anything within his reach and not good for anything else.

I did not agree with the 'sack the board' chant or the 'you don't know what your doing' when making a sub
