Team thoughts?

I would have thought Rudd would certainly start, and likely Mbokani.

Could see a fair few first teamers playing, seeing as a lot of the peripheral players are out on loan.

Id expect Jarvis to play, seeing as he can't play at the weekend, be interesting to see who plays between Whittaker and Wisdom, as it could be a big indicator as to who will play against west ham, although I guess they both could play and given Russ Martin a well deserved rest.

my predicted line up

Rudd

Whittaker Wisdom Bennett Toffolo

O'Neil Dorrans

Jarvis Bennett Lafferty

Mbokani

although I could see us possibly going two up top to give either Grabban or Hooper a run out too

Think it'll be mixed up quite a bit, both players and formation.

RuddWisdom - Bennett - Bassong - OlssonBennett - O'Neil - Dorrans - JarvisMbokani - Grabban
Perhaps Howson and Hoolahan in for Bennett and Dorrans if we want to  play Dorrans at West Ham. Jarvis over Brady as he'll be out of the West Ham game.

Would like to see something like that. I imagine though that Hooper will be on the bench, and Dorrans/Howson will partner O'Neil in centre midfield. It'll be interesting that's for sure.

I think I saw somewhere that Hooper is injured? Think I saw 6 weeks mentioned?

Yeah, Hooper is out . Neil doesn't really do exact time frames but it certainly looks like it'll be a while.

Ahh fair enough, I'd have Dorrans/Howson alongside O'Neil in the centre then. Probably Dorrans as I think he's more likely to be dropped for Hoolahan for the game against West Ham on Saturday.

I'd like to see Lafferty get some minutes as well. I'd start him alongside Mbokani personally but I imagine Grabban will start instead.

Everton away. Would have loved a home draw against anyone. Never mind.

Everton away is one of the worst draws we could have gotten. Oh well.

Clearly loads of positives to take out of this game but is anyone else disappointed Toffolo didn't start? How is he going to make any progress if he doesn't play in games like this?

Maybe, in the grand scheme of things, getting Olsson match minutes was more important. Toffolo's time will come.

Olsson needed the minutes though really after being out for so long?

I'm surprised that Lafferty didn't start really after making the bench quite a bit this season, although I guess this was also a good game to give Grabban his first home game after the big tantrum.

So... did Grabban get a decent reception when his name was announced?
