I liked the Mbokani/Bamford combination against West Brom, but at home, against a team in the bottom 3, I think Wes has to play. Hopefully Neil keeps Brady further forward as well, particularly with Redmond still out.

Gonna say we'll lose 2-0. We have a woeful record in the '6 pointers'. If we do win though it'll be absolutely massive.

I'd go with that Din, Wes needs to play in this sort of game, still have no idea which forward will play, I'd probably go with Bamford but wouldn't be surprised if it was Jerome or Mbokani

I think I too would start with Dins team.

The current form of all of the striker is a worry,  the last time any of them had a shot on target was at swansea (182 mins ago) for Bamford (141 mins played since he last had one on target) and Jerome (44). Mbokani has to go back to Villa (184 ago).

998 striker mins have been played since Mbokani scored against Liverpool and in that time they have mustered just 1 assist between them (again the liverpool game) and got just 7 of their woeful total of 24 shots on target.  With less than a key pass per game none are contributing well to the team in either holding up play, creating or scoring so who you chose to start is a hopeful punt more than anything.

Given Newcastles injury and suspension issues this is a real chance for us to build on a great result at west brom;   Again it comes down to whether the players turn up or not on the day;  and who scores the first goal.

Optimistic for a tense nervous unrelaxing win.

I too agree with Din on the starting 11.  Only potential switch would be Bennett for Bassong, simply due to the fact that Klose and Bennett have had more match time together.

I will be interested to see how Wes links up with Bamford, assuming they both start.  Bamford has a good footballing head on his shoulders and with Wes' knowledge and experience, I feel like this could be the match that Bamford opens up his Premier League account from a Hoolahan assist.

We've done pretty well against teams around us this year and you know, Ipswich and Boro in the playoffs last season.

Now granted our away record looks worse than our home record, but that could well change with some bad results against Newcastle, Sunderland and Watford, I'd like to think we can take 7 points from those 3 home games, but you certainly wouldn't bank on it

Newcastles strength is attacking on the counter - since Klose has arrived we have started to look like we can defend from open play and continue our current mean streak.; if the back 4 & central midfield due turn up and show the graft needed I am reasonably optimistic we can grab that crucial first goal.

The next 15 days are crucial;  this is not the time for the players to re-find the darkest corners of their shells.

Is your ex-wife from the North East by any chance? 

I do think it would be great to see Villa, Sunderland, and Newcastle all relegated though. Mainly because it would mean us staying up, but also because I think its great for football. 

If Leicester win the league and Villa finish bottom (first time in second tier since 1988) I think that would just be such a great thing for football in this country, after a decade and a half of the same big four dominating and most teams going down in their first season.
