First game of the season for me, so looking forward to it.

Absolutely no idea what team we'll see, we'll know more after the press conference re injuries I guess.

I would like to see a shake up in midfield in particular.    The desire was missing and at some stage the inconsistent performers have to be held to account - we do have options and hopefully Pritchards performance midweek will spur the standard first team picks on - they all look far too comfortable at the moment.    

Tettey, Naismith, Wes & Howson all disappointed against birmingham, and now need to bring their A games each week & to have some fear actually being dropped when they dont - that does not appear to be the case at the moment.      I want to see a change,   but feel that we will see all 4 again. 

A very winnable game - as long as we bring a desire to show the quality we have to enable us to win a game. Quick incisive passing and dynamic movement should win the game, but ore slow sideways movement of the ball as their defence gets everyone behind the ball will leave us all frustrated again.

For me, I would like to see the following from our team:

- Our side not set up in fear of, and to counter the opposition, but a team set-up to make them worry about US
- Players played in their best positions
- The best "in form" players chosen in the eleven and not sat on the bench
- A team that plays well not for small segments of the game, but for all of the 90+ minutes
- A team that is motivated to win and play for the shirt 
- Brave substitutions
- A "Plan B" if things are not going well

Sadly, whilst I believe we have a good enough squad, I am not convinced our Manager can achieve all of this, but like you all (I guess?),I am prepared to be patient, as it's very early season and we need to see how things settle over the half dozen games or so.

That is spot on for me.

Just one addition and that is, take set pieces seriously and not just a way of restarting the game. What is the point of Klose and Bennett going up for corners when the ball never gets anywhere near them. Free kicks in our half should still be a means of attack and not just a clearance into the other half of the pitch.

Alex saying at the presser he hopes Cameron Jerome back tomorrow. Also Pinto, Pritchard, Dorrans and Ruddy. Olsson still out.

Though Pritchard still getting up to speed after a curtailed pre season.

Tomorrow may be too soon for Oliviera debut.

Can't the manager see that there is our main problem? They are being picked for reasons other than their contribution. I know Pritchard has been injured but to let Maddison go out on loan is baffling when the only other alternatives are Mulumbu or Dorrans.

Our midfield is no better than ordinary at the moment.

Howson and Tettey get picked because they always put it in for the team. Even if they don't have their best game.

Naismith gets picked because we spent a lot of money on him and we are hoping he comes good.

One is the team Captain and it would be embarrassing to drop him. Mind you he has been played out of position virtually all the manager's tenure. One is the manager's biggest spend or maybe second biggest. He clearly wasn't worth the money and we have players more willing and capable in his position. And the other must be fireproof as he is liable to be sent off every match. Mulumbu outshines him when they play together against Ipswich but gets dragged off and doesn't even get on against Birmingham despite Tettey having a mare.

Most can see that this triangle in the middle isn't working but others get dropped instead of not in spite of.

On their day howson and tettey are influential and match winners, they are properly loved and remembered for the number of good performances.   Howson has not looked like his past year version.

They haven't looked like that this season and at some stage they do need to be rested and that time is coming  There is an inconsistency that grows and needs addressing earlier by the manager, dorrans and howson should  be keeping each other on their toes.   They are both good enough to bounce back.

I hope it isn't. It feels like every player we sign lately isn't ready to go.

Noticing quite a lot of negativity from Norwich fans very early on in the season, which is surprising really as we've only had one terrible performance and it came just before the distractions of a transfer window so we have no idea what may have unsettled the players during their preparations (could have been a negative mood because they expected a couple of their more capable colleagues to leave? Or a sulking player affecting the mood because they didn't get a transfer they wanted or something?).  

I guess that poor performance followed by an anti-climax on deadline day has left people feeling a bit frustrated, but we've got two new attacking players to come into the side and one of them could potentially be one of the very best in the division.  

And yeah, we could have done with another striker, but I'm sure Lafferty or Morris could do a job in an emergency so its no reason to panic too much.

I think it substantiate it. We have midfielders to take their place and neither has shown any form this season. And of course it is up to the manager. That is the point. To many people, he seems reluctant to drop or replace certain players but a Murphy can come off in the first half. And the question is whether the is a group in the dressing room that the manager does not know how to manage. As Hughton and particularly Adams found out.

I don't buy that Howson and Tettey are the problem. They were both poor against Birmingham but so was the entire team. They are usually two of our most reliable and consistent players and as others have said give everything for the cause. They're two of the best centre midfielders in the league and deserve their place in the team to be honest. Naismith is a completely different situation, because he's never played well for us and to be honest he doesn't even look like he cares. 

So frustrating that we've got so many first team players injured so early on in the season. Pinto is a big loss because both Whittaker and Martin are useless. Hopefully Jerome is fit enough and Oliveira at least for the bench. If neither of them are though then Lafferty has to start up front ahead of Naismith.
