The Daily Fail has Alex Neil pondering  a move for Fulham striker Ross McCormack.  Alex Neil wants to strengthen through the spine of his team and is sifting through potential transfer targets.

Certainly won't be for 11 million, I am sure. more sure than I am there is any milage in this one.

He's a good little player and I'd like him here but it's almost certainly one they've plucked out of the air.It's not the most unrealistic thing they'll write about us this summer that's for sure.

I like McCormack but I agree the 11 million Fulham paid was way over the top, if they want anything like that much back its a no go, if we could get him for something like 5-6 million I think it would be worth a shot

By all accounts the £11m price was put out by the Leeds board to appease the fans. The price would also have included promotion clauses and such. Can't see it happening, myself, but the price would be far less than £11m if it did.

Fulham didn't actually pay £11m. The fee was about 6-7 million, with a load of add-ons and clauses, and £11m is the very most it could rise to but it's unlikely that'll happen.

He's practically kept Fulham up this season. Won the Fulham POTS with about 60% of the vote, the next closest was their keeper with 18%. Scored 19 goals and got 14 assists which for a team that finished 17th, and were in and around the relegation zone for the majority of the season is pretty impressive. Very tidy player, good on the ball and from set-pieces He's actually very similar to Hooper in his play, but is a fair bit quicker to Hooper, so can play the up front by himself role. Looking on Fulham's forum as well he seems to have a great work rate. If we could get him for a relatively low fee (£5m/6m or less, which is albeit a little unlikely) then I'd be very happy with that.

He'd be a very good signing for us, especially as he can play the wings (including the left one).

£11m would be far too much to pay for any player from the Championship who hasn't been proven in the Premier League though (including Jordan Rhodes).

£5m or £6m much more sensible.
