Rumours doing the rounds that A.Neil would like to have McArthur here at City, after playing with him at Hamilton.  McArthur only signed for Palarse a little while back,  I cannot see Pardledew .. wanting to let him go.  Having paid £7mill for him I think a bid of £8mill  which is rumoured is not going to cut much ice.

Then is the player worth anymore  27 years old, scored two in 32 . hardly is headline material

Even so that is not stopping reports from suggesting that Norwich will launch an £8million bid for the player, who made 32 appearances scoring two goals last season. - See more at: https://www.clubcall.com/crystal-palace/midfielder-linked-with-rivals-7-1770695.html#sthash.Ksrh9b6O.dpuf

I know that Palace fans rate McArthur very highly, so can't see much truth in it. Also don't really know why he'd want to join us really when he's a regular starter there.

Also, don't really know why we're going in for centre midfielders. Think that's one area of the pitch we don't really need to improve assuming no-one goes.

Would be brilliant but no chance really. Would be like us selling one of our central 3 when there's literally no need.

Dont agree that our centre midfield doesnt need improving;  It is not as much a priority as other areas of the pitch but even with dorrans we can always do with more quality - whether thats mcarthur I dont know.

While our midfield dominated the championship it did not dominate many games, against lower prem sides, even in 5 man form last season.    Alex may change that with the same personnel but that seems a risk so i would want at least one new quality player.

But a full back 4 and a striker are the priorities

We didn't dominate the midfield on many occasions but imo that was down to application. We did a lot of standing off and waiting for the opponent to give us the ball. The same set of players would have given very different results under our new manager.

Of course we'll have to constantly strengthen if we want to stay in the league long term. I presume this summer we'll get another defensive midfielder as competition for Tettey. Next maybe the Hoolahan replacement, presuming Andreu and King don't make it,

I wonder if Vadis will have much of an impact.

Is Connor McGrandles considered the young Wes? We definitely need anothew Wes type player. Closest we've had to an alternative Wes in recent years was Dani Pacheco. Team always looks more creative with Wes in the side. Some games he's not appropriate for, but we look flat without him.

If we can find a Wes with more of a direct goal threat and perhaps more physicality or versatility, we should probably break the bank. A Wes without Wes' limitations could be a vital player for us
