Full Back Purrington from Argyle

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Premier League new boys Norwich City have enquired as to the possible availability of Plymouth Argyle youngster Ben Purrington.

The left-back has been impressing at Plymouth since breaking into the first-team 18 months ago.

A number of Premier League and chamionship clubs have been tracking his progress since he broke into the senior set-up with the Pilgrims.

Purrington made 14 appearances last season and was nominated for the L2 Apprentice of the Year award.

The 19-year-old saw this season hampered by a wrist injury as he made nine appearances to help Plymouth reach the League Two play-off semi -finals.

One of the positions we may need cover but thought Toffolo

I doubt he'd be coming in to play any first team football. One for the future like McGrandles if there's anything in it.

Id say if there's any truth in this the best brt would be for him to have a deal like Louis Thompson where we sign him but allow him to stay on loan there for the next season to continue his development

This strategy may well be something we'll be seeing a lot more of in the future
