This states our first bid was 2m, then 2.5m, then 3m.  We're certainly playing hard-ball if this is true.

Pilks had also become an Ireland international, played three seasons in the Premier League, scoring against the top teams and was the highest scoring midfielder in the division first season or something silly like that.

Yet we got less than 2m for him in the end I think, after having paid 3m for a player who had only ever played as high as League One and was carrying a serious injury

I don't think his choice of position is really left back, am hearing that he has played as a wing back, but not really an out and out LB.

I reckon we'll meet the price, possibly today.
Just read this. Interesting

According to the mirror, we've doubled our bid from £3m to £6m, however Hull are apparently holding out for £9m.

If our first offer was 2m, then 2.5m, then 3m, I highly doubt our fourth bid is 6m

More like 4m with add-ons

If Steve Bruce wants to discuss embarrassing bids, what about Villa's bid for Wes last season? £850,000 was it? For a full international?

I know Wes is getting on and was playing League One football not too long ago, but then again so were Lambert, Lallana and Schneiderlien who is about to move for £25m is it?

Yup, I think he'll be a great addition. £6m still not too bad, tbh.

Most reports I've read say that we've bid £6m, but Hull are holding out for £8m. If it is true that we've finally matched Hull's valuation then I'd be delighted, and £6m is a good deal as well.

BBC Radio Humberside says Hull City denies new bid has been made, let alone accepted.

Just a load of rumours then?

It appears Radio Humberside have said that there has been no bid.

After Bruce went public with it Neil said that we're interested. If we weren't going to bid again I'd imagine he'd have said that it was dead in the water.

It'll happen.

Probably.

I did think it was odd that none of the 'major' sites were reporting it. I think it will happen eventually, but it's getting quite boring now.

Reports that a 4th bid has been accepted by Hull.

On the embarrassment front - which do you think is more embarrassing - our initial £3m bid, or Hull's £15m price-tag?   I know which one Id point to. Perhaps if Bruce had put a realistic price-tag on his head we'd have opened with a realistic bid.

Bruce needs to look at himself

I don't get what you're fussing over, any manager will try anf get the best deal for their players. I think the 15 million pound stated weeks ago was tongue in cheek anyway. If Neil said that Redmond could leave for 30 million you'd be laughing.

Bruce put a £30m price tag on Robertson
Clearly way over the top at present (seeing as how Clyne was 'only' 12.5mil),but in truth Robertson has massive potential and could easily be at a top club in a few years if he develops right and gets the relevant game time to do so.

So what ur saying is worth a cheeky opening offer of 2m?   ;)   Can you imagine Bruce's face?

Apparently our latest bid still doesn't meet Bruce's valuation ffs.
