So, there has been plenty of rumours in the press about players we don't necessarily want to lose.

Fer.

Redmond.

RVW.

But nothing on the ones we want / need to get rid of.

Bassong.

Becchio.

Bunn.

I mean, a Google news search on Bassong returns nothing! This guy was POTS 2 seasons back.

Is this a concern? Are we going to be left with these guys on the books?

You just never know how things could work out though.

Late huge bid for Ruddy - we suddenly need Bunn.

We sell Hooper, Lafferty breaks his leg in the first game - suddenly we need Becchio.

You'll always need a squad, and I would be happy with the players listed being part of it, as they can all do a job, to some respects.

Whether they are happy with that, is another matter.

While I agree with what you're saying in regards to backups, if Bunn & Becchio were even remotely in the frame - even as a backup - wouldn't they have gone to Italy for a spot of 'team bonding'?

They had room for Loza & Mathews.

Oh I have no doubt as to their position, or our intention to offload them if we can, but a lot of things could well change between now, and the window closing.

I think we all worry about players leaving late and not being replaced, even Adams. I'd feel better if we signed O'Neil, but that seems to have gone very quiet now. Fortunately, there is also the loan market after the window ends and PL teams have named their 25 man squads.

What bothers me is not the players that at the moment seem surplus to requirements , but the fact that Adams is already talking about using the loan market to bolster the squad. To me this indicates pending business in regard to players leaving ,, my fear is now that it will be players that most would prefer to stay who leave .

I suspect he's trying to calm nerves a bit Barclay, as a lot of other managers are. He can't really talk specifically about new signings until existing players leave, if any. If/when RvW leaves, that might spark new activity.

Getting back to Becchio, I notice he scored a brace for the U21s against Bishops Stortford yesterday.

I highly doubt we will be seeing Bunn, Bassong and Becchio play for us whilst Adams is in charge.

I can remember it being a complete surprise when Bassong signed for us towards the end of the window, we hadn't been linked to him at all. Perhaps that's just the way his agent likes to do business? That's where most speculation comes from, agents.

Maybe we need Hughton to get a job before Bassong goes anywhere.

In that case he will be a free agent when he leaves us.
