Few bits and pieces coming out of Belgium that Odjidja has agreed terms with Norwich. Good signing, could be a great signing.

If that's the Dieter Desender tweet (which I'm pretty sure it is) then that isn't anything official - he's just a Brugge fan. This deal could still be gazumped if a Prem club gets involved.

I have Emailled that article to a Cloggy pal who i've asked to pick the bones out. He finishes work at 8pm so may be a few hours.
It's not Louis van Gaal, is it? I think he knocked off at about 8pm tonight.

''It's not Louis van Gaal, is it? I think he knocked off at about 8pm tonight.''.. :p  .nah, but he's City fan, drove from Cornwall to Stanstead to pick me up for the 1st leg of the Yoot Cup final. Also a lifelong Ajax fan, we've watched both Ajax friendlies together at CR. only thing was we wished it was Champs League not Pre Season.

He sounds like quite excellent company!

Was having a cheeky look around the directors box tonight to see if I could see Ofoe and as we were two rows in front of it, I'm pretty sure he wasn't there. Neither was McNally or Delia though as far as I could see, which I found quite interesting. Can't remember the last time Delia wasn't there.

The same journalist who broke the story has tweeted today that he'll be in Norwich for a medical this morning.

I read that early. €5million (that sounds low to me) yet is says the release clause is €7million?

The release clause just means that if that figure is met, the club have to sell the player, assuming he wants to go. If all parties agree, the fee can be lower. Football contracts are notoriously complex and may include sell-on clauses, image rights, promotion clauses etc and so the complete package on offer might be as or more attractive than the release fee.

Great point Andy, I guarantee he will have a promotion clause in that fee we agreed. This is actually a really exciting signing and shows we still have some pull even though we are outside the Premier League, we can't underestimate just how much this guy has been touted, Everton very close to the signing, he's a Belgian international and Vincent Kompany think's he's an outstanding player. If we confirm this, it will be a great bit of business.

Yeah I get all that but €5m still seems low to me. Having said that, that currently works out at £3.97m and we paid £4m for Fer didn't we?

I think 4 mil is quite a bit for a championship club to be spending, you've only got to hear McCarthy before the ipswich match he put things in to perspective for me discussing how much we'd paid for Grabban etc. and yes, of course we're favourites to go up - it's a no brainer.

If we had been sat here in this league for years and saw a team spending millions around their squad like we have i think we'd be thinking the same thing, this is not the prem, 4 million is a ton of money!

Also, if the player wanted the move and the club wanted it (Which appears to be the case),this deal no doubt favours the player in terms of his (and his agent?) personal demands.

£4m is a hugely ambitious sum of money for a Championship team to spend, delighted (if this goes through) that the club appreciates the need to adequately replace Fer.

This will probably the 2nd highest fee paid by a Championship club for a player this season, second to McCormack, can anybody think of any others?

Get £8m for an injury prone player who doesn't want to be here... £4m on the replacement, £4m in the bank to help cover any holes in the budget, sounds good to me!
